SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,518, dated February 10, 1891,

To a when it may concern.-
lie it known that I, EDWARD l". BEACH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the conntyof Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora llrooch or Similar Articles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a fnll,clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawing, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Referring to said drawing, the same represents a front or plan view of my newly-designed jewelry ornament, which is deemed sutiicient to fully illustrate my design.
The leading feature of my design consists in the peculiar form and in the arrangement of the several parts or sections thereof, each of which parts the thread of which is round in cross-section is in the form of a flat spiral.
Those spirals are arranged to overlap and join one another, so as to form upon the periphery of the ornament a series of uniform or nearly uniform curves a, and leaving at the center an open space for a stone or pearl and a setting I; therefor, as indicated in the drawing. The body of the ornament, except where the several parts or sections join or overlap one another, shows a series of openings of irregular form, which add beauty and lightness thereto. The number of sections which may be employed is immaterial.
