BROOCH.
(Application Mud Jan 3, 1000,)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
TJUOIAN M. ZELL, OF BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR TO THE AMERICAN GEM COMPANY, OF MAINE.
DESIGN FOR A BROOCH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,145, dated January 30, 1906.
Application filed January 3, 1900- Serial N0. 296. Term of patent 3 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, LUCIAN M. ZELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Brooch, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof.
Figure l is a plan view of a brooch, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is a view on line 2 2 of Fig. 1 looking in the direction of the arrow.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of a row or line of stones or jewels approximately circular in outline as viewed from in front or in plan. These stones are graduated in size, being smaller from the center stone of the row to the stone at each end of the row. Parallel to this row of stones or jewels, circular 1n outline, is arranged a second row. This second row consists of stones pear-shaped in outline, as shown, the small end being up ward and each one of the pear-shaped stones being attached and dependent from one of the stones in the upper row. These pearshaped stones are also graduated in size, being smaller from the center stone of the row to the stones at each end thereof.
The general appearance above described and shown in the drawings is that of a gentle curve.
It is apparent that this design is also applicable to other articles of jewelry, as Well as to brooches.
What I claim is- The design for a brooch as herein shown and described.
LUCIAN M. ZELL.
