UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HANS P. VON NOSTITZ, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR BRAID.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,189, dated January 6, 1903.
Application filed December 10, 1902. Serial No. 134,708. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whmn it may concern:
Be it known that I, HANS P. VON Nosrrrz, a citizen of the United States, residingin New York, borough of Brooklyn, and State of New York, have invented a new, ornamental, and original Design for Braid, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
The drawing shows part of a braid embodying my design. U
The general features of the braid consist of enlarged portions spaced apart at regular intervals and connected by narrow portions or bands. The enlarged portions a are circular or disk-shaped and are connected at opposite points by similarly-disposed arc-shaped and connected angular portionsb and o. The general outline of the braid consists of symmetrically-disposed curved and angular lines on opposite sides of a transverse center line intermediate of the portions a. The strands of the braiding material of the circular portion are arranged in arc-shaped rows (1, the same being disposed symmetrically on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis of the braid and the meshes of the strands being larger at the central transverse diameter of the disk-shaped or circular portions and converge toward and extend into the arc-shaped and angular portions 1) and c. The interweaving of the braided material follows in lines the form of the general shape of the braid, so that the variouslyarranged rows add to the ornamental effect of the braid.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The ornamental design for a braid, as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
HANS P. VON NOSTITZ.
