Description

AU 292 EX OR D 200150 DESIGN.
A. ROSBNSTEIN. (JANE OB. UMBRELLA HANDLE.
N0. 20,150 Patented Sept. 9, 1890..
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ALBERT ROSENSTEIN, OF LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,150, dated September 9, 1890.
Application filed August 1, 1890. Serial No. 360,677. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALBERT ROSENSTEIN, of Lancaster, in the county of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Designs for Cane, Umbrella, or Parasol Handles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying drawing,
which forms part of this specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in designs for cane, umbrella, or parasol handles; and it consists in the novel shape and configuration of parts whereby a pleasing and beautiful effect is produced, as will be more fully described hereinafter.
The accompanying photographic illustration represents my invention.
A represents the plain inner end of the handle, which has a bead B extending horizontally around it. From the outer end of this plain portion A extend the two plain rounded arms or branches G, which have two of their ends twisted or wrapped together so as to form a rope-like portion D, and have their opposite ends, which are formed in the volutes G, bent around or over the straight body I, having any suitable ornamentation on its sides. This straight body I serves to close the opening between the outer ends of the arms and forms a handle which is to be grasped by the hand. The ends of this straight portion project a slight distance beyond the outer edges of the arms, as shown, and the ends are given any suitable shape or finish that may be preferred. The ends of the arms are made to catch upon opposite sides of the straight portion and are curved in opposite direction.
Having thus described my invention, I claim- The design for a parasol, cane, or umbrella handle, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
ALBERT ROSENSTEIN.
Witnesses:
E. P. Ennis, ALLEN S. PATTISON.
