JOSEPH LUKANITSOH AND WILLIAM Il. OOSMAN, OF DALLAS, TEXAS.
DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,022, dated December 7, 1886.
Term of patent 7 years.

Be it known that we, JOSEPH LUKANITsoIr and WILLIAM H. CosMAN, both residents of Dallas, in the county of Dallas and State of Texas, have invented a certain new and original Design for Badges; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in theart to which it appertains to malte and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification, and in which Figure 1 is a face view of our design, and Fig. 2 is a back view.
Our design relates to badges; and it consists of a nearly reetangnlar-shaped body having a streamer dependent from it, as will be more fully set forth.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, in which the same letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both of the figures, A represents the body portion, which is made of any kind of suitable material, and is nearly rectangular in shape. A {ive-pointed star. B, rests with two of its points upon the upper edge of said rectangular portion. At the back of this body portion are lips or projections D D, and at the back of the star and body portion is a pin, F, with a triangular base. The face of this body portion has a scroll or a broken border around or near its outer edge. Within this border is a eld, upon which are represented a plow, hoe, hammer, anvil on block, wheel, and a sheaf of wheat. Above these implements are Words forming any suitable motto, and in the center of the'star is a monogram, while parallel to the periphery of said star there is a plain border extending around the same. Tne streamer portion of the badge Eis as wide as the length of the metallic portion, and is dependent therefrom. A fringe may be upon its lower end, and itsbody may be adapted to receive characters or designs.
Having thus described our design,we claim-- 1. The herein shown and described design for a badge,A consisting of a nearly-rectangular body portion having a tive-pointed star resting with two ofits points upon its upper edge, and having a streamer dependent from its lower edge.
2. The herein shown and described design for a badge, consisting of a nearly-rectangular body portion having a five-pointed star, within whose center is a panel adapted to receive a monogram, resting with two ofthe points upon its upper edge. and having a streamer dependent from its lower edge.
3. The herein shown and described design 6o for a badge, consisting of a nearly-rectangular body portion, upon which is represented a landscape surrounded by the scroll or broken border, as illustrated, said body portion having a star resting upon its upper edge and a streamer pendent from its lower edge.
4. The herein shown and described design for a badge, consisting of anearly-rectangular body portion, upon which is represented an ornamental field, in the foreground of Which 7c is a representation of agron p ofindnstrial ilnpletnents, said body portion having astar resting upon its upper edge and a streamer pendent from its lower edge.
5. The herein shown and described design for a badge, consisting of a nearly-rectangular body portion, upon which is represented an ornamental field, in the foreground of which is a representation ofagronp of industrial implements, and the upper portion of which field 8o is adapted to receive words forming a motto, said body portion having a star resting upon its upper edge and a streamer pendent from its lower edge. 4
6. The herein shown and described design for a badge, consistingofa body portion nearly rectangular in shape, and having a star upon its upper edge and a streamer secu red to and dependent therefrom, the face of said body portion having a scroll or broken border around 9o or near its outer edge and a field Within said border, and the representation of a plow, hoe, hammer, anvil on block, wheel, and a sheaf of Wheat upon said eld.
