DESIGN FOR A RUG.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16,164, dated July 14, 1885.
Applralion filed Juno l, 1885. Term of patent 35 years.
T0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RICHARD PAUL HEM- MING, a citizen ofthe United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Rug; and l do hereby declare that the photographic print accompanying this specification conveys to any one skilled in the art a clear understaudingof the same, and is sufficient to enable such person to use my invention.
The leading features of my design consist in atriple-panel center, the middle panel showing a iloral design, the end panels a ground in mosaic, with a flower in the center and a halfower at each end. The end panels are surrounded by a narrow border or molding. The three panels are surrounded by a. wide border showing a ground in mosaic, anda narrow outer border representing an ornamental'molding. At each corner of the rug,
' connecting` the outer ornamental moldings, is
shown a representation of a band-the whole as shown in the photographic print aceompauying this specification.
The photographic print illustrates and represents one half of the desi gn or rug. The other half, described but not shown,s exactly like it.
What I claim as my invention is- The design for a rug, consisting of a triple- 3o panel center, the center panel represented by conventional orid ornamentations, the end panels a floral ornamentation on a mosaic ground, surrounded by a broad border showing a mosaic ground, with cross-bands at each 35 corner, the whole surrounded by a narrow or namental border, as shown and described.
