L. KYSER 85 A. O. REX.
Q "N E b TOY MONEY BOX.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LOUIS KYSER AND ALFRED 0. REX, ()F PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A TOY MONEY-BOX.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,758, dated February 7, 1882. Application filed January 9, 1882. Term of patent 3},- years- To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, LOUIS KYSER and ALFRED G. REX, of the city and county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented an Improved Design for Toy Money- Boxes, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention relates to designs for toy money-boxes; and it consists in the representation of a house, rectangular in shape, having a' Gothic roof with four gables and otherwise ornamented, the sides being provided with Gothic windows, the sides on each side of the front and back being further provided with a round window, with Ollfill-WOIlC above said Gothic windows, and the front being provided with the representation of a door, with the numbers 1881!, or their equivalents, above the same, and the word Bank, in ornamented work, upon the face or front of the bank, and in other details, all of which are more fully set forth in the following specification and shown in the accompanying drawing, which forms part thereof.
In the drawing is shown a pespective view of our improved design for toy money box or bank.
A is the base-plate, and is provided in front with steps D, which correspond with the door E in the front plate B. The sides B are four in number, and are all pointed at the top to meet the Gothic roof M, and are further provided with windows G, havingdiamond-shaped openings. The side and back plates are further provided with circular windows H,'havin g heart-shaped openings above said Gothic windows, and one of said sides is provided with the slot L, for the deposition of the money. The front plate B is provided, in addition to the windows G, with the representation of a door, E, provided with knockers, and a Gothic top, F, upon which are numbers 1882; but
these numbers will be changed to suit the year in which they are manufactured. Above this door isascroll-work ornamentation, and above that is a scroll, I, with the word Bank in it. The corners, where the sides meet, are made to represent stone edging O, and the face of the sides is marked to indicate masonry. The roof M is Gothic-shaped, cast in onepiece, and provided with four gables, J; and at thejunction of the four ridges is an ornamented nut, K, which is the head of the belt which holds the parts together.
If desired, the openwork in the windows and scroll-work may be varied without departing from our design.
Having now described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The design for a toy money-box, which consists of a rectangular body having a slot upon one of the sides, in combination with a base and a top in representation of a Gothic roof having four gables, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
2. The design for a toy money-box, which consists of the base-plate A, with steps D, side plates B, provided with open windows G, one of said plates being further provided with a slot, L, front plate B, provided with the representation of a door, E, having numbers over the same, windows G, provided with open-work and the word Bank above said door, and top plate, M, in representation of a Gothic roof provided with four gables, J, and knob K, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony of which invention we hereunto set our hands.
