UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
RICHARD PETERSON, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGNIFOR A COOKING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,512, dated October 4, 1881.
Application filed May 26, 1881. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it'may concern:
Be it known that I, RICHARD PETERSON, a citizen of the United States, residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design for a Cooking Stove, of which the following is a specification.
My design for a cooking-stove is represented in the accompanying drawings, Figure 1, Sheet 1, being a view ofthe complete stove; and Fig. 2, Sheet 2, a view of the panel which ornaments the main door of the stove.
Ais the main oven-door, B the end fire-door, D D the front fire-doors, E and F the doors of the reservoir and heating-closet extension, and G the feet, of the stove.
The principal ornament of the main door A is the central panel, a, which is shown in detail in Fig. 2, the decoration of this panel comprising the representation 1) of a shock of corn, which occupies a central position in the panel, and is surrounded by a circular border, d, composed of two bent cornstalks having ears and leaves, as shown. The door Ais further ornamented by a representation of a stalk of corn extending diagonally across the door beneath the panel, and the doorA as well as the smaller doors B, D, E, andF of the stove, have corner and border ornamentation of a character too fully shown to need detailed description. The main feature of each of the small doors, however, is the central ornament, e, which consists of the representation of a partiallystripped car of corn.
Each of the feet G of the stove has an ornament,f, also representing a partialIy-stripped ear of corn.
I claim-- 1. The design for the central panel or plate, a, said design comprising the representation of a shock of col-11 urronnded by a border composed of representations of bent stalks of' corn, as shown and described.
2. The design for the main door A, said design comprising, essentially, the central panel, a, and the representation of a stalk of corn extending diagonall x across the door beneath the panel, as shown and described.
In testimony whereofl have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
RIOHARD PETERSON.
Witnesses:
