DESIGN FOR HORSE-BLOCKS.

To all whom it may concem:

Be it known that we, VVALDEN EDDY, ABRAM REYNoLDs, NATHAN S. LANGDON, and JAMES M. EDDY, citizens of the United States, all of Greenwicl1,in the county of Washington and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a lorseBlock, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the ac- 1o eompanls'ing drawings, forming part thereof.

Figure 1 is a perspeetive view from the front of our newly-designed horse-block; Fig. 2, also a perspeetive view of the same from the rear. i

Our design, as shown by the aeeompanying drawings, is in form, when seetioned transversely, of two ordinary steps united together by side or end panels and by front and back panels, the end panels forming guards at the zo ends of the lower step.

The steps A and B are ornamented by being formed with openings a through them, said openings being of diamond form and arran ged similarly to the cells of ahoney-comb with respect to each other.

The end panels, O and D, are both just alike, and are construoted With openings b through them, of the ornamental form represented. The guard portions O' D' of these end panels are formed With ornamental openings c through them, as represented. The front and back panels, E, F, and G, are also formed with ornamental openings d d and d' through them, of the form shown in the drawings.

The ornamentations, as shown, partake of 3 5 the form of serolls, eurves, straight lines, and circles united and combined as shown in the drawings, and these, together with the form of the foundation structure, constitute a taste` ful design for a horse-block for use in front of dwellings or in yards Where persons require it in mouuting upon horses or iu getting in and out of carriages.

In the back panel a recess, g, is provided, and in the same the name-plate of the oecupant of the lprelnises is inserted, so as to he removed Whenever another name is required to oecupy the recess.

The horse-blockis made of enst metal.

VVhat We claim is- 1. The design for a horse-block, as herein shown and described, the samev oonsisting of the two steps A and B, end panels, O C' and D D', and front and rear panels, E, F, and G, and the ornamentations of said panels and steps, as shown in the drawings.

2. The design for a horse-block of the form and ornamentation herein shown and described, and having the name-plate recess g in one of the panels, as showu.
