UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE C. BRIT-NEE, 0F BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FORBUTTONS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,391, dated January 8,1878; application filed November 26, 1877. [Term of Patent 31} ycara] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE O. BRITN'ER, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for a Button, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying drawing, to which reference is made, and in which Figure 1 is a top view; and Fig. 2, a vertical central section of my improved button on line a: m, Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
This invention relates to a design for a button for ladies dresses, cloaks, &c.; and it consists of a button having an annular raised or bulging part, with central depression or concavity, and an outer encircling concaved or dishing portion and rim.
Referring to the drawing, A represents my improved button, which is made of any size or material, and formed with a central raised or bulging portion, a, of annular shape, that is provided with a central depression or concavity, b. The bulging portion a is encircled by an annular concaved part, d, that is continued gradually to the outer inclosin g rim e, as clearly shown in the drawing.
The central portion, being raised considerably above the level of the encircling part, imparts a characteristic and striking feature to the button, and forms the essential element of the design, to which, however a certain degree of lightness and neatness is imparted by the central depression and encircling concaved lllll portion.
I claim as my invention The design for a button consisting of an annular raised portion with central depression or concavity, and of an encircling concaved and rimmed portion, substantially as sh own and described.
GEORGE O. BRITNER.
