Description

' PATENTED JULY 28, 1908. I. J. LEVY. v
BAG. APPLIUATION rum) 00131, 1907.
ISIDORJ. LEVY, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
BAG.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 28, 1908.
Application filed October 3i, 1907. Serial No. 400,112.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, IsIDoR J. LEVY, acitizen of the United States, and a residentof the city, county, and State of New York, have made a new and useful Improvement in Bags, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide an article of this class which will readily receive and hold small change in a definite part of the bag so that this change may be either de osited in the bag without opening it, or cofiected without the trouble incident to depositing or collecting it from the bottom of the bag as has heretofore been customary. This obj eat is accomplished by my invention as will appear below.
For a more particular description of my invention reference is to be ha companying drawings forming a part hereof in which,
Figure 1 is a side elevation of a bag provided with my improvements. Fig. 2 1s a sectional view taken on the line 22 of Fig. 1, looking in the direction of the arrows. Fig. 3 is a sectional view taken on the line 33 of Fig. 4, looking in the direction of the arrows. Fig. 4 is an enlarged view of the lower left hand corner of Fig' 1.
Throughout the various views of the drawings, similar reference characters designate similar arts.
The ag 1, has theu'sual frame 2 and a body 2 formed in the conventional manner so that a more detailed description is unnecessary.
to the acand 5 are provided with coin-receiving s ots 7, and 9, respectively, to receive coins of various slzes. 5 is plrleferably provided with a fla or cover w ch protects the ocket 3 an prevents the coins in the bag rom coming through any of the slots 7, 8 or 9.
From the fore oing, it is obvious that my itywith which coins can be either inserted or removed from the bag, and do away with the usual annoyance of opening the bag to de osit small change and a rummaging in the contents of the bag for it.
Any form of receptacle can be'substituted for the pocket 3.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:
A bag for carrying coins and other articles, the coins being kept separate from the other articles, said bag having 0 enings in its side wall of various sizes; re' 'orcing strips provided with openings of various sizes registering with the openings in the side of the bag,
said reinforcing strips being fastened opposite to each other, one inside and one outside of the side of the bag a yielding flap supported on the inner reinforcing strip to prevent coins inserted through the side of the bag from shaking out; and a pocket secured on the inside of the wall of the bag and eX- tending some distance on each side of the inner reinforcing strip, substantially as described.
Signed this 29th day of October, 1907.
