LOUIS DE K. HUBBARD, OF MIDDLETOWN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE RUSSELL MANUFACTURING NECTICUT.
COMPANY, OF MIDDLETOWN, CON- BANDOLEER OR BELT.
`Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 2o, 1906-.
Application filed January 30, 1905. Serial No. 243,306.
To @ZZ whom t may concern;
Be it known that I, LoUIs Dn K, HUBBARD, a resident of Middletown, in the county of Middlesex and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements i in Bandoleers or Belts; and I do hereby del clare the following to be a full, clear, and exl act descri tion of the invention, such as will l enable ot ers skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same. l
. My invention relates to an improved bandoleer or belt, the object of the invention bei ing to provide a bandoleer or belt of woven fabric with integrallywoven longitudinal pockets., and with this object in view the invention consists in certain novel features of l construction and combinations and arrangements of parts as will be more fully hereini after described, and pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a view in elevation, illustrating my improvements. Fig. 2 is a view in longitudinal section, and Fig. 3 is a view in section at right angles to Fig. 2.
l represents the woven body of the bandoleer or belt, and 2 pockets extending longitudinally of the body and woven integral therewith. Above the open ends of the pockets flaps 3 are provided to close lthe open end of the pockets, preventing entrance of snow and rain therein and excluding dust and dirt. The exact shape of the pockets is immaterial, and they may be made of various sizes, the essential features being that the pockets are integral with the body of the bandoleer or belt and are located longitudinally thereof.
Any form of end fastener may be employed on the bandoleer or belt, and while the latter is especially designed for cartridges the pockets may contain any other articles or material and may be of a size and shape rto suit the use to which it is to be put.
A great .many slight changes might be made in the general form and arrangement of the parts described lwithout departing from my invention, and hence I do not restrict myself to the precise details set forth, but consider myself at liberty to make such slight changes and alterations as fairly fall within the spirit and scope of my invention.
' Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
l. An article of the character described, consisting of a strip of woven fabric having pockets disposed longitudinally thereon, i each of said pockets having its sides and bot-- tom woven integral with the strip and having its top open and disposed at right angles to the length of the strip.
' 2. A bandoleer or belt, comprising a woven strip or body having a series of pockets disposed longitudinally thereon, the bottom of each pocket woven integral with the woven strip or body crosswise of the latter, and the sides Iof each pocket woven integral with the woven strip or body coincident with the longitudinal edges of the latter.
In testimony whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
`LOUIS DE K. HUBBARD. Witnesses:
