UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WILLIAM C. FISHER, OF MIDDLETOWN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE RUSSELL MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF MIDDLETOWN,
CONNECTICUT.
BANDOLEER OR BELT.
To rtl/Z whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM C. FISHER., a resident of Middletown, in the county of Middlesex and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bandoleers or Belts; and I do hereby decla're the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to an improved bandoleer or belt, the object of the invention be-A ing to provide a bandoleer or belt having pockets With integral flaps Woven integra] with the body of thel bandoleer or belt; and the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts as will be more fully hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a view in elevation illustrating my improvements. Fig. 2 is a view in longitudinal section, and Fig. 3 is a view in section at right angles to Fig. 2.
l represents the woven body of thel bandoleer or belt, and 2 ockets extending longitudinally'of the bo y. Above the open end of each pocket is my improved flap 3, which is of woven fabric and woven integral with the body of the bandoleer or belt and is adapted to protect the contents of the pocket from rain, snow, dust, dirt, &c.
The exact shape of the pockets and flaps is not important, as they may be of any shape and size to suit the contents they are designed to transport, and while the bandoleer or belt is especially designed to carry cartridges, it is Speccaton. of Letters Patent.
Application filed January 30, 1905. Serial No. 243,307.
Patented Nov. 20, 1906.
Well adapted to receive other articles or material.
A great many slight changes might be made in the general form and arrangement of the parts described without departing from my invention, and hence I do not restrict myself to the precise details set forth, but consider myself at liberty to make such slight changes and alterations as fairly fall within the spirit and sco e of my invention.
Having fully describe my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Let- .ters Patent, is-
l. A bandoleer or belt comprising a woven strip or body having ockets disposed longitudinally thereon, and? a flap for each pocket, each flap woven integral with the woven strip or body and covering the open top of a pocket.
2. A bandoleer or belt comprising a woven strip or body having pockets disposed longitudinally thereon, the bottom of each pocket woven integral with the woven strip or body and extending transversely across the same and the sides of each pocket woven integral With the Woven strip or body coincident with the longitudinal edges thereof, and a iiap for each pocket, each fla woven integral with the woven strip or bo y and extending transversely across the same from one longitudinal edge to the other and adapted to cover the open top of 'a pocket.
In testimony whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
