PATENT OFFICE.
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
DESIGN FOR A FABRIC.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N0.
34,302, dated March 26, 1901.
Application filed February 28, 1901. Serial No. 49,355. Term of patent 14 years.
To (all whom it may concern:
Be it, known nhatl, DAVID J. SEAMAN, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at South Bend, in the county of St. Joseph and State of Indiana, have invented and pro dnced a new and original Design for Fabrics, of which the following is a specification, referenoe being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part. hereof.
This design relates to the ornamentation of cotton, silk, woolen, paper, celluloid, and other fabrics.
In the drawing I have shown a plan view of my design.
The leading feature of the design is the representation of stems from which spring holly leaves and berries running along or upon the surface of the fabric in reversely-arranged compound curyes. The stems A appear in two groups close together following reverse curves continuously approaching and receding from each other. Lying upon and springing from the stems are holly leaves 15, and in the intervals between the leaves holly berries C appear on the stems. In the space formed where the stems recede from each other a spray of leaves D, with a bunch of berries E at its base, projects from one group of stems toward the other group.
What I claim is The design for a fabric described and shown.
In testimony whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two witnesses.
DAVID J. SEAMAN.
