Letters Patent No. 66,893, dated July 16, 1867.
IMPROVEMENT IN mess.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that we, SAMUEL SELDEN and W. J. F. LIDDELL, of Erie, in the county of Erie, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a. new and useful improvement on the Reversible Loose-Jointed Door-Hinge; and we do hereby declare that the following is a. full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, refercncebeing had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in which- Fignre 1 is a perspective view, and I Figure 2 is a vertical section through the centre of the joint. The operation of the improvement is as follows: Fig. 1 represents the arrangement of the leaves for a left hand door. The pin i 2" stops a-tf. Fora right-hand door the band 7 is placed upon S, and the pin stops at g h.
The stopsf and g It may be movable plugs, and may be nearer the lower ends of the pin-holes or g. In thiscase the pin can be longer, and the stops would be held in place by friction or otherwise. The stops may also be screws. In the left-hand door the stop would be held in a, thread cut in the barrel at 1-, and for a right. hand door the plug would be held in the same way at 1., fig. 2.
What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The stop in the hand of the loose-jointed reversible door-hinge, constructed as specified, and for the purposes set forth.
