IMPROVEMENT IN LAND-ROLLERS.

TO ALL WHOM I'l MAYCONCERN:
Be it known that I, JOSHUA S. SHAFER, of Plymouth, in the county of Wayne, and. in the State of Michigan,
`have invented certain new and useful improvements in Land-Rollersg and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and -exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
In the annexed drawings, making part oi' this specification, B B represent two square franges, which have one common end piece, A, to which they are both hinged, as seen at G- G. Within these frames are rollers, G C. Each roller has two centre pins in its ends. The pins in the outer ends of these rollers worl; in suitable heuringsvin the end pieces of the frames B B, while the pins in their inner ends work in bearings in the common end piece A. I) D represent braceswhich run from the outer ends of the frames B B tothe eentre or common end piece A. E represents the tongue or pole of the roller, which is secured to the piece A; and F represents the doubletrees, to which power is attached for drawing the roller. By hing-ing the two frames to a common end piece and having the shafts or pins of the rollers upon which they revolve play in this end piece, a flexible roller is formed which will accommodate itself to the inequalities of ground which it may he used upon. Having Ithus fully described n1ynvention,wl1at I claim as new, and desire to secure hy Letters Patent, is I-Iinging the frames B B to the common end pieceA, in which end piece the rollers C C have their hearings, for the purpose of making a flexible roller, substantially as specified.
