IMPROVEMENT IN LAND-BOILERS.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, MOSES MILLER, of East, Gaines, in the county of Orleans, in the State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Land-Rollers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full,
clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 1s a perspective view of the roller complete, showing the relation of the various'parts.
Figure 2 is a top view, showing the cross-reaches. In fig. 1 A A and B represent rollers made in any of the usual ways. The rollers A A are placed. one ineach end of the frame 0, leaving the space from D to E between them. In this space the cross-pieces]? F are fastened. Between these cross-pieces the tongue G is hung on t-ho'pin H. The boxes in which theaxles of the rollers run are designated by L L. The roller B is in a separate frame, M, and is plac'ed behind the, rollers A A. The frame Mflvhich contains thc roller B, is connected to the frame C by the cross-reaches. N, which are heldin their place by, and play freely from side to side upon, the pins 0 O O 0.
It will be seen that the tongue G is jointed and moves or swings up or down on the pin H, consequently the horses do not sustain any of the weight of the frame, but this weight is thrown upon the rollersAA. The roller B being behind the rollers A A, allof the rollers cannot be in the same dead furrow or depression at the same time. By means of the cross-reaches N N the roller B is made to follow overthe unm'll'ed earth left by the space D E in whatever direction the roller may turn.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The roller B, having an independent frame M, and the cross-reaches N N, in combination wi-th the rollers A A and the frame C, operating in the manner anchfor the purpose shown and described.
