UNITED STATES PATENT EEICE.
ANNIE A. DAVIES, OF ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA.
BABYs BAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 618,847, dated February 7, 189g.
Application filed August 9, 1897.
To all whom t may concern.-
Be it known that I, ANNIE A. DAVIEs, of St. Paul, Ramsey county, Minnesota, have invented certain Improvements in Babies Bands, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in babies bands, its object being to provide an` improved form of the same which will not wrinkle, as the ordinary band does, when in use.
To this end my invention consists in the specific formhereinafter shown anddescribed.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, Figure l is a front View of my invention, and Fig. 2 is a rear view of the same in extended position.
The invention consists of the body portion or band A, the front of which is formed with a downwardly-projecting portion 2, to which the other garments are attached to hold the band closely over the stomach. The front of the band also extends upward to cover the chest of the child and has a iap 3, which is adapted to be pinned to the top of the rear portion of the band. A neck-opening 5 is formed between the ilap and front portion of the garment. The top and bottom edges 4 and 6 of the rear portion of the band converge Serial No. 647,519. (No model.)
toward the center, as shown in Fig. 2, so that the band when in place conforms closely to the shape of the body and also by being high in the back prevents it being soiled, as in the case of the ordinary band.
I claiml. As an improved article of manufacture, a babys band, comprising a tubular body portion, the lower edge of the front portion of the band being shaped to conform to the stomach, and being provided with an upwardly-extending chest portion formed with a neck-opening, and -provided with a back flap adapted to be connected with the rear part of the tubular portion.
2. 'As an improved article of manufacture, a babys band, comprising a tubular body portion, the lower edge of the rear of the band converging toward the center, and the forward portion of the band being formed with an upwardly-extending chest portion extending over the shoulders and adapted to be connected to the rear of the tubular portion.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
' ANNIE A. DAVIES.
