Description
R Em BH T m. RU 0 B Patented Mar. 23, 1897 HE aims rsTzRs co. more EDIVARD R. ROBERTS, OF GRAFTON, PENNSYLVANIA.
BOUQUET-HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 579,181, dated March 23, 1897.
Application filed January 9, 1897. Serial No. 618,686. (No model.)
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD R. ROBERTS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Grafton, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bouquet-Holders; and I do declare the following. to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as Will enable others skilled in the art to which itappertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to bouquet-holders.
The object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which shall be simple of construction, durable in use, and comparatively inexpensive of production, and which may be readily attached to and removed from the garment of a person, and which will securely retain the bouquet in position.
With these objects in view the invention consists of certain features of construction and combination of parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a front view of my improved bouquet-holder, and Fig. 2 is a side view showing in dotted lines the garment to which it is attached.
The device consists of a base-plate A, preferably of disk form, having on its under side a pivoted spring-pin B, the point of which is adapted to be engaged with the keeper 0.
D denotes a spring-bow, the lower ends of which are coiled, as shown at E, and are connected with pins F, that pass through holes in the disk and are riveted thereto.
In use the bow is pulled away from the body portion and the stems of the flowers are inserted between it and the body, and the bow will then spring back against the stems and further hold the bouquet in the position into which it is placed.
The device is very simple, and may be attached to or removed from the garment in a short space of time.
Although I have specifically described the construction and relative arrangement of the several elements of my invention, I do not desire to be confined to the same, as such changes or modifications may be made as clearly fall within the scope of my invention without departing from the spirit thereof.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is-
A bouquet-holder consisting of a base-plate provided on one side with an attaching-pin, in combination with a spring-bow, the lower ends of which are formed with coils, and pins connected to the free ends of the coils and passing through holes in the plate and riveted thereto, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof I hereunto afEiX my signature in presence of two witnesses.
EDWARD R. ROBERTS.
