Description

L. C. McWILLIAMS.
GO-CART ATTACHMENT.
APPLICATION FILED'OCT- 7. 1916.
I Suva/MM Z i jam 5 LULIE C. MOWILLIAMS, 'OIE JACKSONVILLE, TEXAS.
GO-CART ATTACHMENT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Apr. 2, 1918.
Application filed. October 7, 1916. Serial No. 124,325.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LULIE O. McWrcLIAMs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jacksonville, in the county of Cherokee and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gro-Cart Attachments; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in childs go-cart attachment and one of its objects is the provision of a device of this character, which shall be simple, durable and efficient, and which may be manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost.
Another object of this invention is to provide an article receptacle attached to the rear of a go-cart or childs carriage, whereby clothes or other articles may be placed and kept clean when riding the child, so that the clothes of the child may be changed any time when desired.
A further object of this invention is to provide a pair of hooks on the receptacle for engaging the back rest of the go-cart to suspend the receptacle and the receptacle having sprin catches on the bottom to engage the seat of the go-cart to prevent swinging of the receptacle and whereby the receptacle may readily be removed or detached from the go-cart when desired.
With these and other objects in view as will become more apparent as the description proceeds, the invention consists in such novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
For a complete understanding of my invention, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in which Figure l is a longitudinal sectional view of a go-cart attachment, constructed in accordance with my invention, and
Fig. 2 is a rear elevation of the same.
Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral 1 indicates the seat of a go-cart, having the usual arm rest 2 secured thereon,
to which is pivotally secured the back rest 3, and to which my invention is applied.
A clothes receptacle 4; has secured to the rear wall and adjacent the top thereof a pair of hooks 5 which engage the upper edge of the back rest 3 for suspending the receptacle thereto. A pair of spring catches (i are secured to the bottom of the receptacle and engage notches formed upon the seat 1 to hold the receptacle against movement.
A cover 7 is hinged to the rear wall 4 for closing the receptacle and has secured thereto a hasp 8 for the reception of a staple 9, whereby a padlock may be inserted in the staple to prevent the cover 7 from being swung to an open position.
Fromthe foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, it will readily be seen that the clothes rece tacle may be readily applied and removed from the go-cart when desired and also provides a convenient means of conveying the childs clothing and other toilet articles which are essential for children when the child is being ridden within the go-cart.
While I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it will be understood that minor changes in construction, combination and arrangement of parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
Having thus described my invention what I claim is:
A go-cart attachment comprising a receptacle, a cover closing said receptacle, a pair of resilient hooks secured to the back wall of the receptacle adjacent its upper edge and adapted to engage the back rest of a go-cart, and spring catches secured to the bottom wall of the receptacle and adapted to engage the under face of the bottom of the go-cart to prevent the receptacle from swinging upon said hooks.
In testimony whereof I afiiX my signature in presence of two witnesses.
LULIE O. MCl/VILLIAMS.
Witnesses:
