Definitions

  • ABSTRACT A roller mill of the edge runner type comprising a rotary grinding table and pivotally mounted rolls adapted to roll on the material on the grinding table, each roll being individually joumalled in a respective box-shaped support which is inherently transportable and the supports are connected by box-shaped intercalated connecting pieces, which with the supports from a ring resistant to torsion.
  • the present invention relates to a roller mill of the edge runner type, and more particularly to such a mill with spring loaded rolls, comprising a rotating grinding table and several rolls adapted to roll on the rolling table and mounted for pivotal movement.
  • roller mills of the edge runner type with these features have been previously proposed in accordance with various constructions and with different dimensions During the course of rationalisation and attempts to economize in space in the case of mills with large outputs, the problem has arisen of further developing the construction of such roller mills in such a manner that the grinding or milling effieiency of a single mill with correspondingly larger dimensions can be substantially increased.
  • the present invention consists in a roller mill of the edge runner type comprising a rotary grinding table and pivotally mounted rolls adapted to roll on the material on the grinding table, each roll being individually journalled in a respective box-shaped support which is inherently transportable and the supports are connected by box-shaped intercalated connecting pieces, which with the supports fonn a ring resistant to torsion.
  • the ring consisting of the supports and the connecting "pieces is so arranged that it encompasses a drive, the grinding table and the rolls.
  • the connecting pieces can, in this case, be constructed in accordance with the invention to serve as ducts for hot gases.
  • a swinging lever of the mill is so constructed that the axis of rotation of the respective roll iscarried in a lever and this lever is supported in a detachable manner in a fork, and the roll together with a central part can be swung out of position.
  • a technical advantage of the invention is to be found in the fact that roll units of the same construction and size can be used and that each edge runner roller mill can be equipped as desired with two, four or more roll units. In this manner it is possible to produce economically edge runner roller mills with different capacities using a modular system, that is to say, with interchangeable units. In accordance with the same points of view, it is also possible to use supports of the same size for edge runner roller mills with different capacities.
  • This type of construction also allows the use of a so-called summating drive or a drive with a power take off, so that in relation to the power the weight of the drive, the breadth of the drive and its costs can be reduced vis-avis a drive system using a single drive point.
  • the construction in accordance with the invention furthermore offers the possibility of swinging individual grinding rolls out of a housing of the edge runner roller mill and closing the openings forthe grinding rolls in the housing by means of suitable covers or doors.
  • an edge runner roller mill with four rolls temporarily with two rolls only partly loaded, in this case only two rolls operate.
  • This is more particularly advantageous in the case of plant which are in a compound manner between a rotary kiln and an edge runner roller mill, since the necessity may arise for operating the rotary kiln with a reduced throughput, so that corresponding less gases 2 are produced which are provided for drying-grinding and dust removal in the edge runner roller mill.

  • the central lever part 17 is capable of being swung together with the swinging lever pin 4 in relation to the swinging lever 3.
  • the central part of the lever is indicated by reference numeral 17 in the swung-out position.
  • FIG. 2b shows asa pin in lever 17 and a slit sleeve 16 is provided in which there is a conically shaped pin 20, which is pressed by means of a plate 23, screws 15 (shown diagrammatically) and plate springs 24 into the sleeve 16.
  • a gripping or clamping ring 19 arranged to be secured by diagrammatically shown screws 25.
