  • the present invention relates to a transformable piece of furniture, to wit: a chair adapted to be changed into a hair-dressing table.
  • It is another object of the present invention to provide a combined hair dressing table and chair which comprises an actual seat formed by a tubular metal skeleton and provided with -a laterally opening drawer in which the hair dressing implements or the like may be housed while the back, which forms a small cupboard including a plurality of compartments adapted to carry various srnall bottles and beauty products, is provided with a hinged door adapted to be opened and to be folded back upwardly so as to show on its inner now apparent surface a mirror capped by a tubular electric bulb.
  • the back is carried by at least one upright arranged laterally on the same side as the drawer in the seat, so as to allow the user to sit on the seat facing the mirror while, in its closed condition, the chair may be used in the same manner as an ordinary chair the seat and back of which are covered by a suitable fabric.

  • the combined piece of furniture includes chiefly a tubular metal skeleton 1, the actual seat 2 and a back 3 fitted on the skeleton comprising, as illustrated (in FIG. 2, a tube forming a lateral upright 4, continued by a lateral loop 5 adapted to carry the back 3, a second upright 6 forming a duplicate of the upright 4 and extending downwardly, so as to form a double foot 7, a transverse bar 8, a further double foot 9 and a further transverse bar 10, the seat 2 being carried ice by the two bars 8 and 10.
  • the seat 2 is provided with a drawer 11 opening laterally to the same side as the double upright 4, 5 land 6, the drawer 11 serving for the housing of toilet implements such as brushes, combs, haircurlers, razors and the like.
  • the back 3 is constituted by a small cupboard or rectangular box 12 subdivided into compartments for housing small bottles and beauty products and also for housing the tubular electric lamp 13 fitted in the cover 14 which is hingedly secured to the cupboard body and may be folded upwardly and inside which is also secured a mirror 15, said cover carrying the mirror and lamp being collapsed when closed within the cupboard.
