Be it known that 1, CHARLES C(Jonnsron, of Jackson, in the county of Hinds and State of Mississippi, have invented a new and 1m- 5 proved Coin-Holder, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of my invention isto provide a new and improved receptacle for holding coins, &c. ,which holder is simple in construction and IO cheap.
The invention consists of two semi-cylindrical sections or casings hinged to each other at the adjoining'ends, into which sections the coins are placed.

Figurelisaperspectiveview of myimproved 2o coin-holder. Fig.2 is a longitudinal sectional elevation of the same partly opened. Fig.3
is a cross-sectional elevation of the same closed. Fig. 4 is an end view of the same closed.
25 The casing is formed of two semi-cylindrical sections or casings, A, provided with semicircular heads B, which casings areunited at one end by a flexible strip, 0, of paper, cloth, 850., glued to the heads. To one of the oppo- 30" site heads a strip or tag, D, is secured, which has the under side of its free end provided with gum, Inucilage, or other adhesive substance. The free ends of the casings A are swung apart, and the coins are placed between and into them, and then the holder is closed and se- 33 cured by means of the strip which is moistened and pressed on the free-head of the other casing or section. The value of the coins contained in the holder can then be written, printed, orstamped onthe strip D. The holder can be made of various sizes and of pasteboard, stiff paper, stiffened fabric, leather, or othersuitable material. 7 The sections A can be hinged together in any other suitable manner.
Having thus fully described my invention, I
.claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A coin-holder made substantially herein shown and described, and consisting of CHARLES CARROLL JOHNSTON,
