Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of the panels used in shuttering in the construction sector. More specifically to panels of composite type plastic material for application in concrete shuttering.
- the invention relates to composite panels for concrete shuttering which incorporate a core based on recycled material.
- ALKUS platte A47 which consists of a polypropylene sandwich with aluminium and plastic skins which has the following drawbacks: a) instability with the changes in temperature; b) chemical attacks of the alkalis on the aluminium, c) the dimensions of the panels do not cover the total surface necessary for the structure of the shuttering panel.
- a shuttering element and a process for manufacture and repair of shuttering elements are described, constituted by a carrier panel covered on at least one of its faces by a film which is bonded to the carrier panel in a replaceable fashion by means of an adhesive agent which is disabled by the influence of heat.
- the core of the shuttering element is of synthetic material which is not sufficiently rigid and has to be reinforced by means of a layer of reinforcing fibres, which implies an increase in costs.
- the composite panel for application in concrete shuttering of the present invention intends to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks by including in the core materials obtained from recycling which provide it with sufficient rigidity.
- the composite panel for application in concrete shuttering of the present invention intends to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks by including in the core materials obtained from recycling which provide it with sufficient rigidity.
- Said last aspect is fundamental nowadays in that it is necessary to recycle and reuse waste materials to avoid deterioration in the environment and, moreover, to save raw materials and energy.
- the inclusion in the core of recycled rubber signifies substantial advantages, not only by reducing the weight of the panel, but also by conferring better mechanical properties upon it, particularly as regards nailing.
- An object of the invention is a composite panel for application in concrete shuttering, the core of which is essentially constituted by recycled material, more specifically, by recycled thermoplastic material and triturated recycled rubber or by triturated recycled material, obtained from the automobile industry which contains thermoplastic and triturated rubber material, and recycled thermoplastic material such as recycled polypropylene.
- Another object of the invention is a procedure for the production of said composite panel for application in concrete shuttering from recycled thermoplastics and rubber which takes place in accordance with stages of mixing and hot-pressing or extrusion.
- the composite panel for application in concrete shuttering which constitutes the object of this invention has a structure of the sandwich type and is constituted essentially in its core by thermoplastic material and rubber obtained from conveniently triturated and mixed waste.
- the recycled thermoplastic material can be acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), a phenol resin of the novolac type, polypropylene, etc.
- ABS acrylonitrile butadiene styrene
- This thermoplastic material acts as a “binder” when fusion takes place at 160-200° C. (specific melting temperature).
- said recycled thermoplastic material is, preferably, polypropylene, in powder or granular form.
- the triturated recycled rubber has a grain size of 1-4 mm.
- the recycled polypropylene is in a quantity of between 80 and 20%, being preferably 70%; and the triturated recycled rubber is in a quantity of between 20 and 80%, being preferably 30%.
- the invention also refers to a composite panel for application in concrete shuttering which incorporates a core which contains the following components:
- said triturated recycled material is in a quantity of between 90 and 40%, preferably 70%; while the recycled polypropylene is in a quantity of between 10 and 60%, preferably 30%.
- compositions of the core of the panel are envisioned:
- the core is fabricated with recycled material, a material is being used which in principle has no type of industrial application, which determines that said core is obtained at low cost which greatly reduces the final price of the panel.
- a structural skin is laid on at least one of the two faces of the core with intermediation of a filter which acts as interface and which allows a secure bonding of said structural skin to the core.
- Said structural skin which provides strength and rigidity to the panel, consists of a sheet of 1 to 3 mm in thickness which can be laid on one or the two faces of the core and the nature of which can be polymeric (thermoplastic or thermostable), wood or hybrids thereof.
- the appropriate material for said structural skin is thermostable in nature such as a polyester reinforced with bidirectional fabric of fibreglass and cut fibre with a grammage of 500-3500 g/m 2 ; an impregnated SMC of hybrid fabric formed by a layer of fibreglass cloth of 400 g/m 2 and of bidirectional fabric with the same grammage impregnated in a polyester resin (orthophthalic, isophthalic or vinylic); or reinforced polypropylene.
- said structural skin is constituted by reinforced polypropylene, for example of the TWINTEX or GMTEX trademark.
- the filter which acts as interface between the core and the structural skin consists of a physical base which favours adhesion between these two parts of the sandwich panel to be manufactured and matches insofar as possible the different nature between the thermoplastic material of the core and the thermostable material in the structural skin.
- said filter is a filter of continuous threads or single-threaded with a grammage of 400-800 g/m 2 or a bidirectional fabric with a grammage of 500-800 g/m 2 ; preferably a filter of continuous threads with a grammage of 400-800 g/m 2 .
- finishing skin which constitutes the contact surface with the concrete, thereby conforming the composite panel for application in concrete shuttering of the invention.
- Said finishing skin must offer optimum properties of resistance to abrasion and scoring, resistance to impact and chemical aggression (in an alkaline environment like concrete and to other aggressive chemical products such as the form-stripping agents habitually used).
- Said finishing skin is adhered to one of the faces of the structural skin by means of an adhesive and it can be replaced when it deteriorates, without having to change the whole panel.
- the finishing skin is constituted by CURV (polypropylene reinforced with bidirectional polypropylene fabric) or by polyurethane or polyethylene; its thickness being between 0.2 and 0.7 mm.
- the material constituting the core be extruded for its subsequent passage through a calender wherein the different layers are superimposed: single-threaded filter, structural skin, adhesive film and finishing skin.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic view of the elements which intervene in the process of manufacturing the composite panel for application in concrete shuttering during the phases of mixing and hot-pressing of the core, reinforcing layer and structural skin.
- the core ( 5 ) is directed toward a sector prior to a press ( 6 ) in which corresponding layers of reinforcing fibres ( 7 ) are applied on both faces of the core ( 5 ).
- the intention is to make panels for concrete shuttering using a mould of 1200 ⁇ 900 mm maximum dimensions by pressing the different panels in a 325 Tm press with parallelism control with a pressure of 205 bar and temperature of 180° C. during 30 minutes.
- compositions used for the production of the cores were the following:
- the skins were laid using a single-threaded fibre of 850 g/m 2 as core-skin structural interface:
- the bonding between the different cores and skins was carried out by hot-compressing at 80 bar during 7 minutes at 170° C.
- panel 3 satisfies the objectives for the different properties as to bending strength, bending modulus, etc., as well as being easily nailed and having good adhesion between core and skin.
