BRUSH KIT Filed June 4, 1934 /y lNvENTORs RENATO RICIPUTI MICHAEL. GAI-U22' -E- ll E- t BY m E ATTORNEY Patented Feb. 19, 1935 PATENT OFFICE o BRUSH KIT Renato Riciputi and Michael Galuzzi,
Copague, N. `Y.' 1 Application .miie 4,;1934, serial No.' '128,912 l c1aims`- (ci. 132-47) Y This invention relates new and useful im-` provements in a brush kit.
The invention has'for an object the construction of a brush kit which is characterized by a 5 brush with a back comprising a pair of hinged hollow sections adapted to bevclosed, and articles removably mounted within said Ihollow sections.
Still further the invention proposesthe speciiic arrangement for removably holding said articles. Y
.Still further the invention contemplates the provision of clips arranged ina particular manner within said hollow `sections so as to `be adapted to firmly hold the articles in position.
Another oneof 'the objects of this inventionV is the arrangement of a 'mirror vin one of the hinged sections.
Still further the invention proposes the construction of va device as mentioned which is simple and durable and which may be manufactured and sold at a reasonable cost.v 1 Y For further comprehension of theV invention, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, and to the appended claims in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.
In the accompanying drawing forming a material part of this disclosure:
Fig. 1 is a side elevational view of a brush kit constructed according to thisinvention.
Fig. 2 is a plan View of Fig. 1 but illustrated with the hinged sections fully opened.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view taken on the line 3--3 of this invention, a portion thereof being broken away to illustrate interior parts.
The brush kit according to this invention comprises a brush back consisting of hinged hollow hold `the sections in closed positions. Numerous articles are removably mounted within the hollow sections. As illustrated in Fig. 2 there is a nail file 14 and a comb 15 within one of the sections.Y .The other section is provided with a tube of shaving cream 16, a tooth brush 17, a tube of l toothpaste I8 anda razor 19. A feature of this invention is the particular manner in which these'articles are held in position. More particularly with clips. l
`Each'of thel hollow sections 10 has a transverse wall 20 mount-ed therein and slightly spacedfrom the bottom o-f the hollow so asY to form an interior .compartment .21; The Iarticles are arranged .upon the Vtransverse wall 20. A manually movable-member 22 is` arranged beneath the transverse wall 20. g
The manually movable member 22 is arranged within the compartment 21 and isso formedas to be manually slide-ble. This member 22 is formed with side anges 22 connecting with a bottom'portion 22D; One of the flanges 22a has a'continuation 22C; This-continuation is formed with a small opening 23 viewable through an elongated slot 24 formed in the transverse wall 20. The arrangement is such that a hair pin or other object may be engaged through the slot 24 and into the opening 23'and so provide for the manual moving of the member as desired.
A plurality of clips 25 are mounted upon the base portion 22b of the member 22 and have their arms extending through slots in the transverse wall which are arranged in such a manner as to facilitate gripping action of the clips. More particularly each of the clips 25 includes a pair of arms 25aL extending through converging slots 26 formed in the wall 20.
The arms 25a connect with intermediate portions 25b which are riveted or in any other manner attached upon the base portion 22b of the movable member. The slots 26 of all of the clips are arranged converging in the same direction so that when the member 22 is moved into one position the arms 25a'will be spread apart for the purpose of releasing pressure upon the articles held and when moved in the opposite direction the arms 25a will be forced together and so tightly hold the articles. It is necessary that the articles be held very tightly since the brush quite often is violently moved during brushing In Fig. 6 a slightly modified form of the invention is disclosed which includes a brush back having one hollow section 10 and a section 10 hingedly connected therewith. 'I'he section 10 is shown constructed of some composition translucent material and is shown provided with a metallic mirror 28 on its inner face. In other respects this form of the invention is identical to the previous v:form vand ,corresponding --parts may be recognized by 'thesame reference fnumerals.
It is to be understood that the shape and size of the brush and the bristles may be changed, also that the brush may be used for hair, clothes, shoes, or for any other purpose.
While we have shown and describedmhegpreferred embodiment of our invention, it istorbe understood that we do not limit ourselves tothe precise construction herein disclosed -and`^the right is reserved to all changes and modifications coming within the scope of the invention as de :fined in theappendedclaims.
Having thus described ourinvention, Iwhat lwe claim as new, and desire toV secure by AUnited States Letters Patent isz- Y f l. In a brush kit, a brush :back ,comprising hinged hollow sections adapted toibe closed, a transverse wall mounted in .the hollow ofion'e of said sections and'spaced from fthe bottom, `'clips movably mounted oversaid bottom and having pairs of opposed arms extending ithroughvcon verging slots insaid transversewalland adapted tohold articles at 'theirl extendedends above .the transverse wall.
