The convulsions of the expansion coil spring grow less in diameter toward the inner end thereof and the convulsions of the spring form means for receiving different sizes of cigars or cigarettes,

In assembling the device, the body is slipped on the stem or bit 10 from the mouthpiece and thereof, until the shoulder or ring 16 abuts the shoulder 13 on the stem after which the spring 1S is inserted within the sleeve or cylindrical shaped body 15 by coiling the spring and when the spring is fully inserted in the body the spring is released and the outermost convulsion will seat against the shoulder 17 and the innermost convulsion will seat against the flange or vcollar 12.v e

Thus at this point, itis ,to be noted that the spring forms a three-fold function, rst, for the holding the body 15 in an extended cigar or cigarette receiving position; second, for

A cigar and cigarette holder comprising an elongated stem having a mouth-piece at its inner end and an annular stop shoulder at its outer end, a `cylindrical body portion slidably mount-ed on the stem having a shoulder on its inner end engaging theA shoulder on the outer end of the stem, a stop shoulder on the outer end of the body, and an ex`pansion spring housed in said body engaging the outer end of the stem and the shoulder on the outer end of said body, said expansion spring being of the coil type and having thc convulsions thereof lessening in diameter toward the inner end thereof for receiving cigars and cigarettes of different diameters.
