ver, whereby a sash-fastener is obtained which is cheap, simple, easily repaired, and capable of holding the sash in both a closed and open position, and at any height, without the aid of extra appliances and without defacing the sash, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth and definitely claimed.

In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is an isometric view of my improved sash-fastener, and Fig. 2 a sectional-view of same.

To look the sash when closed, the lever l is turned up so that the pressure of the eccentric is increased with the upward pressure of the sash, and for supporting the sash when raised, the lever l is turned down to cause the weight of the sash to increase the pressure of the opposite eocentrie' The pivoting-pin 1" passes through both plates at a and eccentrics n n, and is readily inserted or withdrawn in case the spring 0 or strip at require renewal.

, What I claim as my invention is The improved sash-fastener, consisting of the case A formed of the two parallel plates CL a, united at the ends by the seats I) b, and having opening 0 between them, the rubber or leather strip (1, and spring-plate e, placed in said seats, and the pivoted lever Z, having the two eccentrics n n, all constructed and arranged substantially as described and shown, for the purpose set forth.
