IMPROVEMENT IN DOUBLE APRONS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 173,857, dated February 22, 1876; application filed January 29, 1876.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM G. HEANEY, of Camden, Camden county, New Jersey, have invented a new and Improved Double Apron, of which the following is a specification:

The object of this invention is to furnish an improveddouble apron, designed for use in diseases of the penis, which shall be so constructed as to protect the clothing, keep the penis cool, and allow it to be conveniently passed out to urinate.

Theinvention consists in an improved double apron, made of linen, with the bottom and top edges, and the lower part of its side edges, closed, having its lower part lined with linen, and provided with a hole in the upper part of its inner side, and with a waist-strap, whether the tape or cord be used or not, as hereinafter fully described. a

A is the body of the double apron, which is made close at the bottom, top, and lower part of the sides. The body A is made of linen, and its lower part is also lined with linen B to prevent leakage. In the upper part of the inner side of the body A is formed a round hole, a, of sufficient size to allow the penis to be passed through it. To the upper edge of the body A is attached a strap, 0, to be buckled or tied around the waist of the patient. For night-wear a narrow tape or cord, D, is attached to a loop secured to the middle part of the inner side of the body A, is passed between the legs of the patient, and is secured to the waist-strap (3 to keep the apron in place. To urinate, the penis is passed out through the open upper part of one of the side edges. The double apron being made of linen is cooling, and thus prevents heating, and aids in effecting a cure.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patout- An improved double apron, A, made of linen, with the bottom and top edges, and the lower part of its side edges closed, having its lower part lined with linen B, and provided with a hole, a, in the upper part of its inner side, and with a waist-strap, 0, whether the tape or cord D be used or not, substantially as herein shown and described.
