,To all whom it may concern y Be it known that I, CYRUS M. WALKER, a jfltizen of the United States, residing at {.Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and 5 State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Union Garments; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of they invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification. My invention relates to union under garments and has'for its principal object to provide a garment of this character having a flap attached to one of the leg portions, to close the crotch opening from the inside of the garment and protect the wearer from contact with the free edge of either leg memher. In accomplishing this object, I have provided the details of structure herein de scribed"and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure I is a front perspective view of the garment, in applied position. closing the back opening 10 of the nether parts 56, I secure a flap or fly 11 to the part 6, so that it may underlie the seat part of the portion 5 and is provided, at the outer edge, with a button 12, which is adapted for application to the button hole 13 in the outer portion 5 to hold the flap in position and close the opening.

It will be seen that by having the flap buttoned to and underlying the outer part, rather than being on the outside, the flap will be held within one of the leg members, so that bagging or gaping is obviated and a comfortable, closed garment is provided.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new therein, and desire to secure by Letters-Patent, is:

1. A union garment comprising a bifurcated nether portion, one of the members of the bifurcated portion being provided with a button hole and having an edge terminating in substantially the line of the bifurcation and the other member having a flap lying within the first named member and having a button adapted for application to the button hole in said other member to retain the flap in place. a

2. A union garment comprising a bifurcated nether portion, having a back opening extending from substantially the center of the waist band position and on the line of the bifurcation, one member of the bifurcated portion being provided with a button hole and the other member with a flap with the upper portion of the flap fixed within the upper portion of the first named member and the body of the flap adapted to lie Within said member, and a button on said flap adapted for application to the button hole from the interior of the garment.
