CARD HOLDER Filed April 50, 1928 fiancw-B Shiraz )NVENTOR WITNESS: ATTORNEY Patented June 25, 1929.
UNITED STATES FRANCES P. SLOSSER, OF WASHINGTON, IOWA.
CARD HOLDER.
Application filed April so, 1928. Serial No. 278,955.
This invention relates to card holders for holding and displaying cards containing reading mater of various kinds, the invention being especially useful as a holder for menu cards. 4
. An object of the present invention is the provision of a card holder which will prevent the card from becoming soiled and mutilated through handling, and which will keep it in a sanitary and attractive condition, the
material and construction of the holder being such as to permit of the said holder be ing frequently and readily cleaned, so that the holder may also be kept sanitary.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a holder which in addition to the above advantages, is constructed of elements and parts which are readily purchaseable and easily assembled, so that the holder may be manufactured at anominal cost.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention further includes the following novel features and details of construction, to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated\in the accompanying drawing and pointed out in the appended claims.
In the drawing Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating the invention.
Figure 2 is a section showing the holder folded.
Referring to the drawing in detail wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding arts, the holder comprises one or more, pre erabl two pockets indicated enerally at 10. hese pockets are forme' of flat sheets of transparent waterproof material 11 which are arranged in contacting relaxor other menu and may also contain adver- 1 tising matter, the cards shown displaying a soda fountain menu in addition to advertising matter.
W0 or more pockets may be connected and for this purpose the e elets 13 receive open rings 15, preferably of the type known as poultry rings or poultry markers and are also formed of a white stainless material which is waterproof. The holder will thus present a neat, attractive and sanitary appearance and as it may be readily washed or cleaned, it can be kept in such condition. In addition, it will protect the displayed card so that the latter will not become mutilated or soiled.
As the eyelets 13 extend around three sides of the pockets, any number of pockets may be assembled with the rings connecting the longitudinal edges of the pockets, or if de sired, the rings may connect the .closed ends of the pocketsso that cards having longitudinally extending reading matter may be used if desired.
The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as properly fall within the scope of "the appended claim.
Having described the invention what is claimed is A card holder comprising a pair of cardreceiving pockets, each formed of fiat sheets of transparent waterproof material arranged in contacting relation and waterproof eyelets securing the sheets together along three of their edges, and open rings extending through the eyelets along adjacent edges of the pockets to hingedly connect said pockets.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
