Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 168,292, dated September 28, 1875 application filed July 24, 1875.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE SELDEN, of the city of Erie, State of Pennsylvania, have have invented an Improvement in Pipe-Ton gs, of which the following is a specification The object of my invention is to construct adjustable pipe-tongs in such a manner as to render them at once simple, strong, and efl'ective. To this end they are constructed as follows The end I) of lever B is constructed in the shape of a sleeve, with two lugs, 12 and W. In thissleeve b slides the shank of ahooked jaw, A, which may also be provided with a lug, a. To the lug b is attached a fulcrum-pin, 0, connecting the lever B with the toothed lever D. The lug 11 receives a thumb screw, E, which screws into the shank of the hooked jaw A, or
