COMBINATION-WRENCH.
Application filed March 30, 1918,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, VVILLIAM F. SNowDoN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Combination-VVrenches, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
The object of this invention is to combine in one tool both a monkey wrench and a pipe wrench.
In the accompanying drawings Figure 1 is a side view of the complete tool.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view.
Fig. 3 is a face view of the pipe wrench part of the tool.
In the drawings, 1 is an extension of the stationary jaw of the monkey wrench forming the stationary jaw of the pipe Wrench. 2 is the movable jaw of the pipe wrench. 3 is an extension of the movable jaw of the monkey wrench that frames the movable jaw 2 of the pipe wrench. 4 is a pivot on which the movable jaw 2 turns in the movable jaw frame 3. 5 is a connecting part of frame 3 against which the movable jaw 2 rest when said jaw is in neutral position.

serving to take strain from pi vet I when the tool is used as a monkey wrench. 6 is an extension of lower part of the movable jaw of the monkey wrench in which is seated a spring 7 that acts to return the movable jaw 2 to neutral position. 8 is the adjusting screw of the monkey wrench which also adjusts the pipe wrench for different sizes of pipe. 9 is the stock of the monkey wrench. 10 is the free end of the movable jaw 2 to which the handle is attached.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is In a combination of a monkey wrench and a pipe wrench an extension of the stationary jaw of the monkey wrench forming the stationary jaw of the pipe wrench, extensions of the movable jaw of the monkey wrench forming a frame, a movable jaw pivoted in said frame, a spring tending to move said pivoted jaw in one direction against said frame, a handle formed integral with said pivoted movable jaw and tending to swing said pivoted jaw in the opposite direction during manual operation of the wrench.
