IMPROVEMENT IN WRENCHES AND PIPE -TONGS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 116,077, dated June 20, 1871.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, Jmvrns A. MORRISON, of Bradys Bend, in the county of Armstrong and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Combined Pipe-Tongs and Wrench and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in which the figure is a side View of my improved instrument.
My invention has for its object to furnish an improved instru mentfor screwing and unscrewing tubing, nuts, &c., which shall be light, strong, simple in construction, convenient in use, and effective and reliable in operation; and it consists in the construction of the device, as hereinafter described, the same consisting of two handles, curved on 'one side of their pivot, and two curved serrated jaws pivoted thereto in such a manner as to adapt them to hold tubes, &c., whether true cylinders or not.
