Description

AQL. BOBET.
Beer-Faucet. I No. 168.132. Patented Sept.28,l875.
m o M T F 1 v} .7 .N: WW7 A M 'W lT NESQESY v UNITED STATES ALDOLP L. B'OBET, OE sAN EEANc1sco, CALIFORNIA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE- PATENT OEEIOE.
HALF HIS RIGHT TO GEORGE NOLAN, OF SAME PLACE.
IMPROVEMENT IN BEER-FAUCETS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 1 68,132. dated September 28, 1875; application filed June 8,1875.
' .To all whom it may concern:
Be it. known that I, ALDOLP L ON BOEET, of San Francisco, State of California, have invented an Improved Beer-Faucet, of which is in part a sectional view taken longitudinally through the faucet.
A is the barrel of the faucet. B is the plug made straight-sided and having an opening for the passage of the beer through its lower end, as shown by the arrow-point. O is a rubber washer or plug set up against the side ofthe plugB by a' spiral spring, .D. E is a rod terminating in a cross, or button, with perforations sufficient to give passage to the beer, which holds the spring in place.
This rod is a part of the disk F which closes the end of the faucet, the disk being either screwed into the end or soldered in, as preferred. G is a nut, which screws on the end of the plug and against the rim of the hole in the barrel through which the plug passes. The arrow-points at H H pass through perforations in the end'of the barrel and disk, which give passage to the beer entering the faucet.
The operation is as follows: The plug,
.Which-though ground in its place, as with other faucets-does not depend upon its accuracy of fit to maintain its tightness, the rubber acting to preserve a tight joint through which no liquid can pass, even though the plug should be quite loose. The operation of driving the faucet by heavy blows of a mallet will never cause leakage in the faucet, the rubber being a yielding substance not affected by concussion.
1 claim- The combination in a faucet of the plug B, rubber tube 0, and spring D, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
ALDOLP LEON BOBET.
