Tocrlf-wllma it may concern: I
Be it known that I, JAMES J. Cones, a citizen of the United States, residing at Los Angelcs, in the county of Los Angelcs and State of California, have invented certain ne and useful Improvements in Gap and Collar Cases, of which the following is, a specification.
The present invention relates to a cap and collar case and has for its principal object to provide a case wherein both a cap and a plurality of collars may be carried conveniently, said case being adapted to be placed within a carrier such as a suit case or the like.
A prime object of the invention is to provide a case of thi nature embodying a simple and eflicient construction, one which is inexpensive to manufacture, durable, attractive in appearance, and well adapted for the purpose designed.
With the above and numerous other objects in view which will appear as the description progresses, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fullydescribed and claimed.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device embodying my invention showing the same in an open position;
Figure 2 is a vertical central longitudinal section therethrough showing the same in a closed position; and
Figure 3 is a transverse section through the collar container.
Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that the device consists generally of an outer case 1 and an inner case 2. The outer case 1 is the cap case while the inner The cap or outer case 1 includes a body portion 3 of substantial cylindrical formation or any other desired shape and is provided with a short extension 4 having a flange 5 arranged thereabout, said flange being formed integral with the side wall of the body 1 as is also the extension 4. A tab 6 is disposed on the flange 5 and a cover 7 is hinged to the body 1 by means of a strap 8 so as to be brought over the body 3 and the tip compartment formed by the short extension 4 and flange 5 and to be held in place by the tab 6 engaging a button 9.
The collar case 2 will be formed of substantially the same material as the outer orv top case and of substantially the same'forniation as the body 3 thereof, but of course will be smaller in size so as to be disposed within the body 3. As is disclosed to advantage in Figure 2 the cap 11 is disposed in the outer case the crown thereof being positioned within the body 1 and the tip within the tip compartment formed by the extension 4 and flange 5 and the collact case 2 is then inserted in the crown of the cap and the cover 7 may be closed over both cases. A pair of diametrically opposed tabs 12 are provided on the upper edge of the case 2 so that it may be easily removed from the outer case when desired.
It is thought that the construction, ad vantages and other features of the invention will now be clearly understood without a more detailed description thereof. It is desired. however, to point out the numerous changes in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter claimed may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. I
What is claimed is:
1. In a casing for caps, collars, etc, an outer container. an extension formed on the forward edge of the container. the said container being adapted to receive a cap and the extension the eak thereof. an inner container loosely positioned in the outer container so as to be mounted within the interior of the cap, and a cover member hingedly mounted on the outer container adapted to enclose the same.
2. In combination, an outer container, a comparatively wide extension formed near the upper edge of the-container, a flange formed about the sides of the extension forming a continuation of the upper edge of the container, the said outer container and extension being adapted to receive a cap therein, an inner container of cylindrical formation adapted to be positioned within the cap mounted in the outer container, ears formed on the upper edges of the inner container, and a cover member hingedly connected to the said outer container.
3. In combination, an outer container, a comparatively wide extension formed near the upper edge of the said outer container, a flange formed about the edge of the said extension and forming a continuation of the upper edge of the container, the said outer container and extension being adapted to re ceive therein a cap and tip, an inner container substantially smaller than the outer container adapted to be readily positioned in the outer container anda cap is positioned therein, said inner container being adapted to contain collars and the like, ears formed on the upper edge of the inner container, and a hinged cover adapted to snugly fit upon the upper continuous periphery of the outer casing and extension for closing the same.
4. A casing for caps, collars ete., including a substantially oval shaped container, a comparatively wide extension near the upper edge of the said container, a flange formed about the edge of the said extension continuous With the upper edge of the container, and a cover member hingedly eonneeted to the container adapted to snugly fit upon the continuous periphery of the container and extension flange.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
. JAMES J. COLES.
