This invention relates to improvements in match cases tor individual use and it relates more particularl to a cou'ibined match case and cigarette paper holder.
The object of the invention is to provide :1 match case. of cylindrical form having a central tubular chamber for matches with an annular space between the chamber and the wall of the case for a roll of cigarette paper, a piece of which may be torn oil as required, the loan and. construction of the device bein very convenient and handy for the purposes tended.
Another object the invention is to proride a device of the nature described which shall be well and substantially constructed, inf-Sing in mind also its simplicity and eeonomical manufacture.

The holder is provided with a cover 9 with hinge 10 and provided with a spring 11 to close the cover. The top portion 2 has an opening with inwardly slanting edges and the cover is likewise formed so that a water tight seal formed when the cover is in place shown at 12 where the two come together. 13 is a catch for springing back the cover.
The body it has a longitudinal slit or opening 14.- through which one end of the paper 7 is pulled when needed and is a slide adapted to more in slots 16 in the bottom portion 3 and in the top portion 2. The slide 15 is for the purpose of holding the paper tightly in the position shown in Figure 1 when a piece is torn oif to make a cigarette, also for closing the slot 14 to prevent the paper from slipping back beyond the opening or slit. The slide 15 has a roughened surface 16 for igniting the matches.
ll hat is claimed is 1- In a device of the type set forth, a cylindrical body having an integral bottom and a top part each provided with integral outwardly projecting peripheral portions whichportions are formed between their in nor and ou er faces with curved and relatively contronting slots said body having a longitudinal slot. a central hollow cylindrical member in the body spaced from the 0irwumferent-ial wall thereof and seated on the bottom end wall of the body, a supporting ring secured about said central member above the bottom of the body, a roll of paper seated on said supporting ring and. in encircling relation to the central member, a cover for the top of the body and a curved slide having its ends received in said curved slots, the paper projecting through the longitudifoal slot oi the body the slide being movable over the projecting part of the paper to conceal and clamp the latter against the body, said slide having a roughened portion affording a combined match striking and finger gripping surface.
2. In combination with a tubular body having a bottom and a movable cover, integral peripheral parts on the body formed between their inner and outer faces with relatively confronting slots, the body having a longitudinal slot, a central member in the body, 2! roll of paper encircling the central member and having an end thereof projecting through said loi'igitndinal slot, means to support the roll of paper above the bottom of the body, and a slide mounted at its ends in the confronting slots and movable over the adjacent peripheral portion of the body to clamp said end of the paper against the periphery of the body.
