(JASPAR SAUER, OF ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA.
IMPROVEMENT lN I- -IARNESS-HAMES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 156,598, dated November 3, 1874; application filed July 18, 1874.
In the drawing, A represents the upper, B Y
the lower, part of my improved hame. O is the connecting-sleeve, which is fitted accurately over the ends of the parts A and B, be-
ing made with segmental or other suitable cross-section. The hame parts are adjusted to any size of collar in sleeve 0 by means of set-screws a, which pass through the same, and bind firmly onthe ends of the same. The
heads of set-screws a are preferably arranged at the rear side of the hame, to be out of sight. The rein'ring D, as well as trace-fastener E, are sliding by their sleeve-shaped parts on the hame parts A and B, and adjusted firmly thereto by set-screws b, being readily replaced by new onesin case of breakage without injuring thereby the whole hame.
The hame has no welded parts, and is, therefore, stronger throughout, and consequently more durable, and Very convenient in use.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A hame having the two parts A B, adjustable in a central sleeve, 0, together with an adjustable rein-ring, D, and adjustable tracefastener E, as and for the purpose described.
