To all whom it may concern:
t Be it known that I, J osrAH LETonWoRTH,v

The essential feature of my design is the `peculiar and symmetrical form of the cockeye,
which results from making the ends of the loop to which the tug is attached of semicircular form, and connecting directly therewith the loop, which engages with the whiffletree without any intervening neck or shank.
In the accompanying drawing, vFigure I is Y an elevation of my new design for coekeye.
Fig. IIis an elevation at right angles to Fig. I; and Fig. III is a vertical section on line w w, Fig. I.
Like letters of reference designate like parts in each of the iignres.
A represents the loop of the cockeye, which` engages with the whifdetree, and B the loop, through which the trace or tug passes. y The while the inner end connects directly with the cross-bar b withot any intervening neck, as shown in the-drawing. This form of the loop A and the semicircular ends of the loop B render the device compact and symmetrical,
thereby greatly improving the appearance thereof.
