Louis M. BAYRON, or New YORK, N. Y.
COMBINATION TILE'I SET.
Application filed 'April' 17, 1923`.f Serial No; 632,712.
Be it knownithatfI, LoUIselM. BAYRON, ai
of New York, have invented certain new.
and useful Improvements infy aCombination Toilet Set, of which the following is a specitica-tion.
This invention relates to improvements in combination toilet sets, and has for its prime object to provide an improved combination toilet device which will be of particular value 'for use by travelers who wish to carry a number of toilet articles in a compact form, the arrangement of the parts being such that any of the articles is readily accessible.
A further object of the invention is to provide a combination toilet set, in combination with a hair brush, whereby all the toilet articles are concealed from view in a sanitary and dust-proof receptacle.
A still further object of my invention is to construct an improved combination toilet set in such a manner that it can be easily and cheaply manufactured and will present a device of convenience for the traveler.
These and like objects of the invention will be better understood as the description follows and as is specifically pointed out in the appended claims.
Referring to the accompanying drawing which forms a part of this specification and which clearly illustrates` the use and construction of my improved combination toilet set,
Figure 1 is a plan view of the back of a hair brush constructed in accordance with my invention.
Figure 2 is a side elevation of same.
Figure 3 is a vertical section through a hair brush constructed in accordance with my invention, and
Figure 4 is a section taken on line 4-4 of Figure 1.
Referring to the accompanying drawing in detail, like characters will be used to designate like parts in the Vdifferent views.
In the drawing, the numeral 1 indicates the back of a hair brush, that is provided with the usual bristles 2.
The back of the hair brush which is provided with unusual thickness, has a slot 3 extending approximately the entire length of same for receiving therein a comb 4. The open end of the slot 3 is closed and the combwretained within .the slot by means Vof a cover 5, which engages a spring clasp. 6.
Fiormedinthev handle portion 7 ofthe Vbrush and on the same side in which` the brist'les'are embedded, are a pair of cavitiesr8\ and 9, which are. adaptedto receive therein a box of rouge and lface powder, as indicated by the numerals 10 and 11 respec tively. The boxes 10 and 11 a-re concealed from view and held within the cavities 8 and 9 by means of covers 12, which are hinged at one side and held in a closed position by means of'a spring clamp, similar to the clamp 6.
A slot or recess 13 is formed in one side of the hair brush 1, for receiving therein lip and eyebrow sticks 14, said recess being closed and the lip and eyebrow sticks retained within said recess by means of a hinged cover 15, similar to the covers 5 and 12. f
Mounted on the back of the lhair brush and secured thereto by any suitable means is a mirror 16, which completes my improved toilet set, comprising a hair brush, comb, mirror, powder and rouge containers, and lip and eyebrow sticks.
In view of the foregoing description of my invention taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, it is thought that any further explanation as to the construction, operation, and objects of my invention is unnecessary.
While I have shown and described the preferred form of my invention, I realize that various minor changes may be resorted to, without departing 'from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed, and therefore, I do not wish to limit myself to the exact details of construction shown, nor to the combination and arrangement of parts.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A toilet set of the character described, comprising, a body having a rectangular recess formed longitudinally through the center thereof and a somewhat shorter recess formed on the side thereof, the front extremity of the body being shaped to form a brush and the rear extremity being shaped to form a handle, a mirror secured on the upper side of the brush retaining portion, a hinged cover adapted to close the side recess, an arcuate cover hinged to the extremity of the handle portion and adapted to cover the longitudinal recess in the body, a
lower portion of the body.
of clips/to engage the covers and prevent openingthereof, and bristlesV 'formed in the 2.` A toilet set of the character described comprising, a body composed of an oval shaped brush portion, and an extension portion forming ahandle, the said bodyV having a longitudinal recess formed therei inv adapted to receive a comb and a side ref' 'cessj adapted to receive lipsticks or the like and a pair of circular compartments formed in theY lower extremity of the handle to receive rouge, powder and the like, a` plural-- ity of hinged covers adapted to enclose the so desired, a mirror secured llush with the upperside of the oval brush retaining portion, and a plurality of bristles secured in the lower portion of the brush retaining member.
In testimony whereof, I have aixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
LOUIS M. BAYRON.
