EDWARD V. SUNDT, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
'rnousnn SUPPORT. I
Application filed September 7, 1923. 'Serial No. 661, 463.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDWARD V. Sunni. a citizen. of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the countyof Cook and State oi.
Illinois, have invented new and useful Illil provements in Trouser Supports, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a trouser sup porting attachment for belt buckles. and an object of the invention is to provide a support structure adapted for attachment to an ordinary belt buckle, which su ')port,is de-' cloth caused by contact of the trousers with the coat or vest of the wearer.
Another object of this invention is to provide a belt attachment as specified'which will prevent the belttrom slipping about the body of the wearer and will also prevent wear on the cloth of the trousers by the edges of the belt buckle.
Other objects of the invention, will appear in the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a belt buckle showing the improved trouser sup port attached thereto.
Fig. 2 is a section on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1.
3 is a cross section on the line 33 of Fig. 1.
Referring more particularly to the draw-- ings, a belt buckle l, of any approved type is illustrated, to the upper and lower edges 2 of which buckle the improved trouser supporting attachment 3 is connected. The attachment 3 has its upper end curved outwardly from the belt buckle as shown at l,
and it is cut away to provide a relatively wide mouth 5 which opens into the charnel or slot (3. The slot 6 in. turn opens into the substantially circular opening 7. The body of the support 3 about the opening 6 is bulged outwardly as shown at S for housing the upper button on the fly of a pair 0t trousers. The relatively wide mouth 5 to the opening 6, will permit the button to be properly engaged between the belt buckle l and the body of the attachment 3, and the thread usedin connecting the button to the trousers will be engaged in the slot 6 permitting the buckle to be adjusted for engagthe button in the outwardly bulged portion 8 which holds the button against accidental disconnection with the body 3.
It is, of course, to be understoodthat the invention may be constructed in other manners and the parts associated in differentrelations and, therefore, I do notdesire to be limited in any manner except as set forth inthe claims hereuntoappended.
Having thus described my invention what I claim is: i
,1. A. trouser support comprising a body plate having a substantially centrally disposed openin and a passageway cut in the plate extending into said opening and terminating in a" relatively wide mouth, said body plate being bulged outwardly about said opening. 7
The combination with a belt buckle of a trouser support attached to the buckle at the rear side thereof and comprising a body plate provided with anopening, said body plate being bulged about the major portion of said opening to receive the upper button on the fly of a pair of trousers.
3. A belt buckle comprising a buckle proper, an attachment at the rear of the buckle proper having an opening and a flared channel in communication with the o )enin the wall of the opening beingdisposed to one side oi the channel to allow the seating ot' a button therein.
l. The combination with a belt buckle of a trouser support attached to the buckle at I the rear side thereof and comprising a body ture.
