To all whom it may concern g Beit known that I, Mino M. Serrara., a citizen of the United States, residing at and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Flexible Garment-Fasteners, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to a flexible garmentfastener, which is intended for service on various articles of wearing apparel: such as mens shirts; womens waists; and in fact any and all kinds of `garments that a. flexible fastener-fis adapted for.: but said fastener is more especially and particularly designed for shirts, under-shirts, waists, and all garments of the negligeclass.

Some of the principal objects of this invention consist, in providing a ready and handy means for fastening or securing together the divided parts of a arment, and which is intended andv ada' te totake the lace of the veryl objectiona le buttons, also looks and eyes which are constantly breaking or coming o' the garment.

Another object is to'provide a fastening or securing means for wearing apparel, that is soft and flexible and will not injure the garment when laundered ;*therobyl prolonging the life of said garment.

Furtherobjects are to provide a fastener as above referred to, that is very efficient and durable; is quite simple in construction; and one that is inexpensive.

ThisV invention consists essentiallyf-rcferring briefly and in general terms to my flexible fastener-of the very peculiar arrangement and combination cf the different parts; which will hereinafter be fully dejoined claims all in accordance with the statutes in such cases made and provided therefor.

In describing niysaid invention s ecifically und referring in detail to the di erent parts or clement-s;which-combinegto .make up ,and `complet-e ny .,.tlexible-, gapmelnt fastener, as shown throughoutthe several ,views of the drawings and pointed out therein by means of the characters of reference as aforesaid: A refers to a garment embodying my invention, and which in this instance for the purpose of illustration, I have selected a mans shirt; ,on the side a,see more particularly Fi 1 and 4;--of the usual opening or slit in the .front or bosom of said shirt, by which it is passed over the head when said shirt is placed in position on the wearer in the ordinary and well known manner; is securely attached or connected,-preferably by being sewed,-the end b of a retaining-cord or flexible member, which is formed at any desired and suitable distance apart, into loops c as shown: in this instance I have shown in the drawing three of said loops, but it is obvious that the number may vary according to the size of the shirt and to suit the ideas of the wearer. The loop coming at the neck of said shirt has the end forming the free end d of the retaining-cord or flexible member, passing through an inclosing tube or channel epreferably made fromthe same material as the shim-said tube extending around the neck of the shirt under the collar f.
