Be it known that l, Geenen W. Perlen, a

citizen of the United States, and aV resident 0f Pittsfield, Vin the county et Berkshire and State of l\laesachusetts,have invented` a new :and useful Garment, of which Athe. following `1s a specification.l

:.The invention relates 'to Vapparel gan ments, and'inore particularly to knock-about or romper suitsvfor children7 and has for its objects toprovide a suit. which will be economical, which will haveV the advantages'of a union suit` in that it niay be placed upon the :person as an entirety, and in which the nether portion may be.Y separated from the upper' portion 'as with ordinary two piece suits.

A similar tab 6 is secured'to jthe'insideof the blouse at the opposite side of Athe iront opening therein. This tab 6 extends from a point belowv the arinholevon that side of the blouse to a point a short distance beyond the vertical'line of the front center of the'blouse. The tab 6 is provided with a plurality of button holes y7 one of which 7* is in alinement with the buttons 3 of theblouse when the latter is' buttoned. *Thestitching at the lower edge of the belt'. will vpass through ,the material of the coat and through the tabs 4 and 6., y Y Y v- Astra-p 8 is secured across the ba'clr'of jihe blouse on the inside thereof a short distance vabove the waistline and parallel to the band 2. In conjunction with the blouse above described is employed a nether portion consisting of a pair ott knickerbockers 12, or trousers, as the casemaybe. The knickers are provided with a slit at each side. The slitsextend from the waistband downward tothe point 13 thus forming a sanitary drop,

dropseat isprovded with a fold 16 which carries va button 15 adapted to engage a buttonhole in the front portion of the knickers.

The knickers are provided with the usual fly `front the Lupper button of which is adapted te passthrough a buttonhole at the Y waistband ofthe knickers and not be covered by the fly. The said upper button will, therefore, be exposed as is common. The buttonhole 7 is vadapted Vto engage over the said button between the overlapping portions of the waistband of the knickers.

.Vhen the tabs 4 and G arc buttoncd or otherwise secured to the trousers, the garment is as much a union suit as is any union suit having a back drop. The buttons 1T and 18, or other forms of fasteners such as snap fasteners similar to those used on gloves, which may be employed instead of the buttons, need not be disturbed except when the garment is to be separated for washing, repairing or replacement of one of its members.

Instead of employing the strap 8 and the suspender 9, the buttons 20 may each be removably secured to a tab 21 stitched or otherwise secured to the inside oi the back ofthe coat, one on each side of the vertical center line thereof, as shown in Fig. 9.

In Fig. 10 is shown a modification in which instead of thetab 6 extending to the fly opening, a separate tab 22 is secured to the coat in line with the buttons 3. This tab depends inside of the trousers and is fastened to them by the button 7^ and preferably by means of an additional button or other fastening 23 as shown.

Instead of securing the tabs to the back of the garment and to the belt, the lower edge of the belt may be secured to the garment below the stitching which secures the tab in place, whereby said stitching will be concealed. Y

What is claimed is 1. An article of the character described, comprising a blouse having a belt secured thereto, an element stitched to the inside of the blouse at each Vside of front opening therein, the upper edges of the elements being stitched to the material of the blouse and to the belt, the lower edges of the elements being free, there being buttonholes in the element-s, a member attached to the inside of the back of the blouse above the line of the belt, said member being attached to the blouse at its ends only the central part of the member being free of the blouse, a suspender' secured to the free portion of the member, there being a buttonhole near the free extremity of the suspender, the buttonholes of the elements and suspender being in approximate alinernent.
