Similar letters 0f reference indicate corresponding parts.
The object of our invention is t0 construct a glass casket; which contains snf'ficienh strength, with an easy replaoing 0f the different parts, t0 be hermetaically cemented together. Our invention pertains .130 an improved construction of glass caskets; und c0nsists in providing the sides -With clasps and rims or flanges whereby they are cou- -venientlyflnd securely locked together.
In the drawing, A represents the side pieees; B, the top and O, the botton1 pieces 0f the cas ket molded suitably of glass. The side pieces A are. wider a1; the head end than ab the, foot end, having straighl: sides aud conica1 ends, tapering downward fromm top t0 bottom. Projecting rims a ran along the upper edge pieces A, which support the top piece G. Grooves b, along the bottom edge, opening toward the head end, serve f0r the bottom 0 t0 slide in. One of the side pieces A is provided wit;h projecting flanges 0r rin1s d, which run up vertically ab head and foot ends, and fit int0 correspondingly-grooved clasps e, producing a firm connecbion 0f the side pieces A; ab the same time, il: is a counection easily and readily made, is n0t easily broken, and does n0t materially impair the ornamental appearance of the casket. Top part; B is beVeled along the edges, 110 be hermetically sealed to 1ims a; and the bottom and side parts are similarly sealed by some suitable cement, forming a streng and rigidly-cemented casket.
Having thus described. 0ur invention, we claim as new and desire 130 secure by Letters- Patent- In a burial-casket, the sides A A, provided wibh the vertical flanges d and clasps e, respectively, interlocking,.as shown and described.
