DESIGN.
No. 38,708. v R H0LMES PATENTED JULY 30, 1907.
COFFEE POT. APPLICATION FILED um 22, 1906.
lllllllllllllllll ATTORNEYS UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANK G. HOLMES, OF TRENTON, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR, BY DIRECT AND MESNE ASSIGNMENTS, OF ONE-HALF TO THE ARCHIBALD-KLEMEN T COMPANY, OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, A CORPORATION OF NEW JER- SEY, AND ONE-HALF TO LENNOX INCORPORATED, OF TRENTON, NEW JERSEY, A CORPORATION OF NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A COFFEE-POT.
Specification for Design.
Patented July 30, 1907.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FRANK G. HoLMEs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Trenton, in the county of Mercer and State of New Jersey, have invented an original and ornamental Design for Coffee-Pots, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
In the drawings I show in Figure 1 a side elevation of a coffee pot, embodying my design, and in Fig. 2 I show a top View of such vessel.
As appears from said figures, the design comprises essentially a vessel of polygonal shape (hexagonal, in the particular instance shown) as viewed from above, the horizontal lines'o'f each of the faces of such vessel being approximately straight. As viewed from the side, the vessel beginning at the bottom or base, comprises an upwardly tapering portion merging by a smooth concave curve into a main body portion much larger than the base, which body portion again contracts, near the top and finally expands by a smooth curve to near the top of the vessel. The outline of each edge of the vessel, as viewed from the side, is that of a smooth ogee curve, comprising two concave curves with an interposed convex curve.
On one side of the vessel is a loop handle of conventional form, said handle being polygonal in section (hexagonal, in the instance shown), the ends of said handle enlarged but forming abrupt angles with the faces of the vessel. On the other side of the vessel I provide a spout, which is also of polygonal section (hexagonal, in the particular instance shown), and at the top of the vessel I provide a cover which in top view is of the same polygonal form, as the vessel itself, said cover surmounted by a knob, the outlines of said cover comprising ogee curves.
The design herein shown embodies the design of my Patent No. 38,324 (Design) dated Nov. 27, 1906, with the addition thereto of a handle, spout, and cover.
I claim The ornamental design for a coffee pot, as shown and described.
FRANK G. HOLMES. Witnesses:
