NURSERY-BOTTLE HOLDER...
Tolall whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES A. BOYCE, a citizen of, the United States residing at Worcester, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Nursery-Bottle Holders; and I do hereby declafe the following to be a full, clear, and exact description ofthe invention, such as will enable others'skilled in the art to which .it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in nursing bottle holders and has for its primary objectthe PIOVlSlOII of means for supporting a nursing bottle at the proper angle to a baby, so that the contlnuous flow of liquid food can be had by thebaby, thereby obviating the sucking of air which causes accumulation of gases in the babys stomach and also obviates any danger of the baby choking as a slight turn of the babys head enablesit to free itself from the bottle.
Anotherfobjeet of this invention is thei will become more apparent as the description proceeds, the invention consists ,in certain novel features of construction, combination, and arrangement of parts -as will be hereinafter more fully 1 described and claimed...
For a complete understanding of my in vention, reference is" to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in whicht'- Figure 1 is a fragmentary perspective 1 view of a babys bed illustrating a nursing bottle holder applied thereto and constructed in-' accordance with my invention. Fi 2 is a side elevation of the support and older removed from the bed and having the bottle supported ther'eby. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the holder. Referring in detail to the drawing, the
I Specification o1 Letters Patent.

of a b'ab s bed or crib Patented May 4, 1920.
numeral 1 indicates a fragmentary portion sides an ends 2 and 3. A vertical support4 has formed at its upper end a hook 5 adapted to engage over the top of the side 2 for supporting the support 4 vertically within the bed or crib, and said support 4 has formed upon" its lower end laterally extending feet 6 adapted to engage-the side 2 of the bed or crib for preventln the support from swinging on the book 5. The support 4 has a. plurality of relatively spaced and horizontally disposed suppo'rt ing bars 7 adapted to be engaged by a book 8 of a holder 9. The holder 9. is supported by the' 'support 4 on a downwardly inclined plane and receives a nursing .bottle 10 of ordinary construction and supports the .nipple 11 at close proximity to the mouth of a baby resting on the bottom of the bed or crib, so that the baby can readily suck upon the nipple to obtain the liquid fluid conaving the usual tained within the bottle 10 and it is to be noted that upon-a slight turning movement .ofthe babys head it can free itself from the nipple thereby obviating any danger of the baby becoming choked from the food. The holder 9 also supports the bottle on an inclined plane whereby the liquid food therein will naturally flow in the direction of the nipple. By having the bottle so inclined, any danger of-the baby sucking air is entirely obviated thereby preventing the accumulation of gases in the babys stomach.
The support 4 is preferably constructed from substantially rigid wire which is first bent to form a pair of relatively spaced side members 12 that have one of their ends bent laterally to form arms 13 and the ends of the arms are bent at right angles and of arcuate shape to form spaced hooks. The other'ends of the side members 12 are bent at rightangles in opposite directions to form laterally extending feet. The side members 12 are connected together by the supporting bars 7 by having said bars bent around the same and soldered or otherwise are reinforced or strengthened throughout their length.
The holder 9 is constructed from flexible wire which is first bent to form relatively spaced members 14 that have their ends I 15 and 16 bent into circular formation to receive'the bottle 10. The circular end 15 is also-bent to form a shank 17 by twisting the wire and later bent to formthe hook 8 for engagement with the supporting bars .7. The circular end members 15 and 16 are further connected together by bars-18 which have their ends bent about the ciring any danger of the baby extracting the bottle from the holder..
While I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it will 'be understood that minor changes in construction, combination and arrangement of parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
Havingthus described my invention what I claim is 1. A nursing bottle holder comprising a vertical support, means securing the support to the upper edge of the side of a bed, lateral feet formed on the lower end of the support I and adapted to engage the side of the bed, and a bottle holder adj ustably' secured to the 3 support and adapted to support a bottle on a downwardly inclined plane.
3. A bottle holder comprising spaced. members, circular end members connecting said spaced members and one of said end members being disposed on an inclined plane, a hook formed on the last named circular end member and adapted to engage a support and allow'said circular end member to rest flatly against said support so asto dispose a bottle on an '-inclined plane.
In testimony whereof I afl'ix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
' CHARLES A. BOYCE.
