BABY-FEEDER AND TOY-HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 19, 1914.
Application filed July 28, 1913. Serial No. 781,649.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JENS C. JENSEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fresno, in the county of Fresno, State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Baby-Feeders and Toy-Holders; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as w1 1l enable others skilled in the art to which 1t appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to combined baby feeders and toy holders and has for an object to provide an extremely simple bracket and milk bottle cover that Wlll have novel means for supporting the bottle at Various adjusted angular positions from the horizontal whereby the bottle may be freely held by the lips of the infant whether the latter is reclining or in a sitting up position.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a bracket having means for preventing the bottle swaying laterally but permitting of the bottle swaying longitud nally and at the same time yielding verticall A still further object is to provide a device of this character to which a toy may be secured after the infant is through feeding.
With the above objects in view the invention consists of certain novel details of construction and combination of parts hereinafter fully described and claimed, it being understood that various modifications may be made in the minor details of construction within the scope of the appended claims.
In the accompanying drawing illustrating this invention :'Figure 1 is a side elevation showing the device embodying my improvements. Fig. 2 is a plan View. Fig. 3 is a front elevation. Fig. 4 cross sectional View on the line 44 Fig. 1.
Referring now to the drawing in which like characters of reference designate similar parts, 10 designates a rod which is slidably fitted in a ball clamp 11 that may be attached to the baby carriage or the crib, the rod being forked at the free end and the branches 12 being terminally equipped with hooks 13 to which are secured helical springs 14, these springs converging toward their lower ends and being connected to a swivel snap hook 15.
The milk bottle 16 is equipped with a cloth cover 17 which buttons snugly upon the bottle as shown at 18 and is provided on mit of the bottle swinging backwardly and.
forwardly between these branches, while the sprmgs 14. will permit of the bottle yielding vertically a slight distance. The above described' device may be adjusted on the ball bracket while the bottle may also be adjusted angularly relatively to the horizontal so that the mpple 21 will rest lightly between the lips of the child and thus be held without effort. After the infant is through feeding the bottle may be detached by disengaging the handle of the cover from the snap hook and a toy substituted for the infants amusement.
The cover of the bottle serves a two-fold purpose, namely it keeps the milk warm and at the same time holds the bottle in position relatively to the infant so that the latter can comfortably feed.
From the above description it will be seen that I have provided an extremely simple and inexpensive device of the character described which is formed of a few parts that are inexpensive in construction and will not easily get out of order.
\Vhat is claimed, is v 1. The combination of an attaching bracket including a rod having a forked end, a pair of springs depending from the branches of the forked end, a snap hook connecting the lower ends of said springs, a milk bottle having a nipple, and a cover removably secured on said bottle and provided with a lateral handle having a longitudinal series of openings in which said snap hook is arranged to be interchangeably engaged.
2. The combination of an attaching bracket including a rod having a forked end, a pair of springs depending from and converging from the branches of said forked end, a snap hook connecting said springs, a milk bottle having a nipple, a fabric cover buttoned tightly uponfhe milk bottle, and In testimony whereof, I aflix my signaan outwa rdly pro ectm g handle on sand ture, in the presence of two wltnesses. cover havmg a longltudlnal SOUOS of openings in which said snap hook is arranged to JENS JENSEN- be interchangeably engaged whereby said \Vitnesses: bottle may be turned with respect, to the M. B. HARRIS,
