Description

No. 622,4l4.
I Patented Apr. 4, I899. A. J. BBADBURY.
HOLDER FUR NURSING BOTTLES.
(Application filed Bar. 22, 1898.)
(No Model.)
m: NORRIS PETERS c0, morou'ma, WASNINGTON, o. c,
ARTHUR J. BRAD BURY,
NITED STATES I OF LAGRANGE, MAINE.
HOLDER F OR NURSING-BOTTLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 622,414, dated April 4, 1899.
Application filed March 22, 1898 To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ARTHUR J. BRADBURY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lagrange, in the county of Penobscot and State of Maine, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Holders for Nursing- Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a new and useful improvement in holders for nursing-bottles, and has for its object to provide an exceed= ingly simple and effective device of this description which may be readily attached to a pillow or other object and so hold a nursingbottle as to permit the contents thereof to V readily flow therefrom, while precluding the possibility of the bottle becoming displaced.
With these ends in view this invention consists in the details of construction and combination of elements hereinafter set forth and then specifically designated by the claims.
In order that those skilled in the art to which this invention appertains may understand how to make and use the same, the construction and operation will now be described in detail, referring to the accompanying draw ing, forming a part of this specification, in which I have illustrated my invention by a view in perspective.
In this invention I form a base H of wire and secure thereto the tubular piece I, in which is fitted the adjustable standard J, having gear-teeth K formed thereon, which mesh with a pinion L, said pinion being journaled in offsets from the post and the spindle thereof carrying a knob M, by which the pinion may be operated for the purpose of raising or lowering the standard, as desired. Tubular posts N are also attached to the forward ends of the wire which forms the base H, and in theseare fitted the ends of the support 0, which have likewise formedthereon gear-teeth P. A spindle Q is journaled within the offsets of the post N and has secured thereon the pinions R, which mesh with the teeth P, thus permitting the adjustment of the support by the manipulation of the knob Y S, secured upon this spindle; A safety-pin arrangement T is also carried by the base for the purpose above set forth. This construc- Serial No. 674,743- (NomodeL) tion of holder permits the adjusment of the bottle when placed thereon at a variety of angles within certain limits, thus better accommodatin git for use under various requirements.
Of course I do not wish to be limited to the exact details and construction here shown, as these may be further varied without departing from the spirit of my invention.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and useful is 1. In a device of the character described, a frame formed of a wire with the meeting ends turned up, a tubular post arranged on the ends, bearings formed in lugs on the post, a shaft arranged in the bearings and a toothed wheel on the shaft, a standard having its upper end looped and teeth arranged on the end fitting in the hollow post, as and for the purpose described.
2. In a device of the character described, a base formed of wire with the meeting ends of the wire turned up, a hollow post on the wire, a standard vertically adjusted therein, hollow posts arranged on the opposite ends of the wire, a shaft connecting the posts and arranged in bearings formed in the lugs of the posts, a support having its ends toothed and operating in the hollow posts, toothed wheels on the shaft and arranged to engage the teeth of the support, as and for the purpose described.
3. In a device of the character described, a frame having a pin attachment, tubular posts arranged at each end of the frame, said posts having slots, bearings formed on the posts, shafts operating in the bearings, toothed wheels on the shaft projecting into the slots of the posts, standards and supports having toothed ends operating in the posts and engaged by the wheels, and a bottle having a projection fitting in the loop of the standard, substantially as described.
In testimonywhereof I have hereunto affixed my signature in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
1 ARTHUR J. BRADBURY. Witnesses:
OMAR HERRIOK,
EUGENE DANFORTH.
