BOTTLE-HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
l atented Feb. 6, 1912.
Application filed May 17, 1911. Serial No. 627,879
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ELLIOTT DIXON, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and residing at Bacup, in the county of Lancaster,
England, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bottle-Holders, of which the following is a specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to bottle holders for use by babies and the object thereof is to provide an improved device of this class which may be conveniently placed in position for-use by a baby when lying down or in a sitting or inclinedposition and which may be conveniently adjusted for use; and with this and other objects in View, the invention consists in a device of the class specified constructed as hereinafter described and claimed.
The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawing forms a part, in which the separate parts of my improvement are designated by suitable reference characters in each of the views, and in which Figure 1 is a side view of my improved bottle holder with part of the construction in section and showing the bottle in position thereon ;Fig. 2, a section on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1 ;and, Fig. 3, a section on the line 3- -3 of Fig. 1.
In the practice of my invention I provide a base or support a which comprises a central portion a having forwardly and outwardly directed arms a and with the head portion of which is connected a standard b on which is mounted a vertically adjust-able arm 0. The arm a is provided with a head through which the standard 6 passes, and the head a is provided with a set screw 0 which may be manipulated so as to lock the arm at any desired point of vertical adjustment on said standard.
The arm 0 comprises the head 0 in which is secured a rod 0 on which is mounted a sleeve 0 and mounted on the rod 0 is an adjustable bottle holding frame d composed of wireand comprising a longitudinal bottom member 01 having downwardly directed side arms 61 and raised rear side members, 0, and provided at its front end with a ring or loop. a.
The downwardly directed side arms at of the bottle holding frame are rotatably mounted ,on the end portions of the rod 0* and are spaced thereon by the sleeve 0 and the free end of said rod is provided with a thumb nut e, and by means of this construction the bottle holding frame may be clamped in any desired position on the arm n c which is made up of the head 0 the rod 0, and the sleeve 0 j In the use of this device a milk bottle of the usual form is mounted inthe bottle holding frame as shown at f and the neck thereof projects through the'ring or loop a and is provided, in practice, with the usual nipple f. In the use of this device, if the baby or child be reclining, the forwardly directed members or arms a of the base a may be passed under the pillow so as to hold the device in proper position and the bottle a be adjusted, as will be readily understood: into such osition as will enable the said baby or child to grasp the nipple f with its mouth, or to have said nipple inserted into .its mouth, and if the child be sitting in an .of the bottle holder may be disconnected for packing, shipping or other purposes and may be set up for use whenever re uired.
Having fully" described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A bottle holder comprising a standard, an arm adjustable thereon and comprising in its construction a head portion and a rod, as
bottle holding frame provided with downpresence of the ubscribing witnesses this wardly directed arms rotat-ably connected second day of Ma 1911. with said rod, a sleeve mounted on'said rod between said arms, and a set nut mounted ELLIOTT DIXON 5 on the free end of said rod. Witnesses:
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as JOHN WESLEY GLEDHILL,
my invention I have signed my name in ERNOLD SIMPSON MOSELEY.
