IMPROVEMENT IN HORSE-COLLARS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 131,925, dated October 1, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN J. WRIGHT,-of Richmond, in the county of Henrico and State of Virginia, have 'inventeda new and useful vImprovement in Horse-Collars; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the Yaccompanyn g drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a perspective View of my improved horse-collar, and Fig. 2 is section 0f ,the same.
My improvement in4 horse-collars con Ssts in a collar sewed in whole or in part with copper Wire or other metallic Wire.
It is well known that horseacollars, when sewed' with thread made of iax or of other similar brous substances, are liable torip long before the leather is worn out and it is very difficult toagain sew such old collars and f make the Stitchesihold for any considerable time; and when collars are sewed by thongs of raw-hide or leather the seams do not stand so long as the other parts of the collar wear. The object of my invention is to remedy these difficulties.
In the manufacture of my improved collars I employ a small copper wire in placeof a thread for sewing the leather. One form of JOHN J. WRIGHT.
