Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 115,832, dated June 13, 18.71.
To all Iwhom fit may concern:
Beit known that I, GEORGE R. HAGER, of Boston, Massachusetts, have invented anew and useful Improvement in Fishermens Pantaloons, of which the following, with the dra-W- ing, is a full description, the drawing being a front perspective View.
The object ot' my invention is to make sliermens pantaloons so that they shall be adjustable to all sizes of men, and so that they shall exclude the Water from entering or pereola-ting down behind the front lap. In the pantaloons heretefore made the rear part is sewed to a waistband which comes forward round the Waist, and is fastened in front by a button and button-hole, and the front flap is furnished with a button-hole inthe front eenter of its upper edge, which is secured to the button of the waistband, While the nppercor- .ners ot' this Afront iiap are provided with eyelet-holes for strings to tie round the Waist in rear. But no means of adjustment are provided for persons of did'erentsizes, and the moisture and water drip and Work their way in over the top ofthe fronttiap, and betweenthat and the waistband. My pantaloons are made with a back and front ap alike, each being provided With a waistband, one to be buckled in front, the other in rear.
In the drawing, A is the front and B the rear flap. C isthe waistband of the front, and D, that of tlie rearap. The pants, being drawn on the waistband D ot' the rear or back ap, are buckled tightly round the Waist in front, and the waistband U of the front or belly iiap is then buckled tightly round the Waist behind. In this Way the front tlap, being provided with a waistband, comes up so as to cover the waistband ofthebaek tlap, (or it lnayreaeh aboveit, if desired,) and thus eft'eetually prevents an y Water from getting in behind the front iiap-a much desired result-while both front and back flaps are adjustable to all sizes of wearers.
